Does anyone else think they have probably abandoned the truck by now? It wouldn't make sense for them to still be driving it around, especially not in any areas that are on alert to look out for them. Not that any of what they have done makes sense...

I was just about to post a link in response to your other post about the industrial park maps. I found this article which states police presence on Fen Ridge Crt (which also borders the business park on the map you provided). At the bottom of the article is a map which points out TB's home, the...

I wonder if it's possible that the "test drivers" purposely left Tim's phone on knowing that it would be traced, drove in the opposite direction to where they actually wanted to go (i.e. Brantford), turned it off and then turned around and drove to Etobicoke, Toronto, or somewhere east, all in...

So, the fact that they test drove a similar truck in Toronto certainly convinces me that TB was not their target - the truck was, just as LE indicated at the start of the investigation. What a shame to hurt someone (assuming that is the case), just for a truck. So sad.

I googled "test drive carjacking" and a few articles came up regarding this topic. For example, this one: http://www.channel3000.com/news/Couple-suspected-in-test-drive-carjacking-arrested/-/1648/18405678/-/lgld8u/-/index.html What transpired in this incident is how I would imagine this type...

O/T Just want to thank the sleuths for an informative and (I want to say "enjoyable", but somehow that seems inappropriate given the circumstances) conversation today. With 2 very young children at home, it's rare I get to participate. I have read every post of every thread with respect to Elisa...

The Elevator Video: What's your take?

Thanks Bessie! I have heard about this trick, and I suppose it's possible that she pushed the "door hold" button in error instead of the "door close" button. However, this is meant to take you to your floor uninterrupted. Why push the other buttons? I wonder if the trick would still work in...

    Hotel Cecil Rooftop Access Discussion

Here are the posts I was referring to with respect to the Chinese investigators. In the first link they say: Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community - View Single Post - CA/Canada - Elisa Lam - 21 years old - Los Angeles/Vancouver - 31-Jan-2013 - #3 Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community -...

    Hotel Cecil Rooftop Access Discussion

Websleuths member Smeinzer stayed there - I believe it was around Feb. 7th - 10th (you can find his posts either in the 1st or 2nd thread). He used the fire escape. I also believe the Chinese Investigators used the fire escape, not the door. I'll find that in the thread for you.

The Elevator Video: What's your take?

Thanks MesaVerde. I quite enjoy reading your posts. I don't want to push this topic too far, but one final note. I am not familiar with this topic, but what about astigmatism? More here: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0002010/ I tend to agree that the pushing of the buttons could...

    The Water Tanks

This is a good observation. I tend to agree that she wouldn't have fallen straight down into such a small opening. And if you think about it, it is likely that one foot would have entered the opening first causing her to fall forwards, but the other foot would have been on the tank and probably...

BBM Yes! This is quite interesting. I could have sworn that the Chinese investigators had said they tried the door and it was locked, but I can't seem to find the direct quote. If, in fact, the door is always unlocked, it is possible the perp (if EL's death is the result of foul play) took her...

The Elevator Video: What's your take?

Her behaviour outside of the elevator doesn't seem as strange to me as her behaviour inside the elevator. I think it's quite possible that she was speaking with someone who was either a) entering or leaving the washroom/shower, b) talking to her from the doorway of his/her room, or c) walking...

BBM I'm a bit confused by this statement, although that could be due to lack of sleep. Wouldn't that be the very reason they would make a point of saying she doesn't have her glasses? Because she is normally seen with them on? Or, perhaps they were just making a point of it because the first...

Perhaps they found her glasses in her room or elsewhere and therefore, they knew for sure she didn't have her glasses. I don't necessarily take the statement to mean that she didn't take her glasses on the trip to California with her. IMO, what the statement means is that they found her glasses...

I agree. I also found an address for BD showing he is on the 14th floor, so it's quite possible MSM is mistaken. I think that it is also an assumption that the noise he heard had anything to do with Elisa. The noise and "flooding" could have had nothing to do with Elisa. If the events are...
