I'm pretty certain that over the preceding months his barrister will have dampened any deluded hopes he had of being acquitted. He will have been advised to plead guilty, prior to the Nick and Joe apparition and even when he came up with that he would have known it wouldn't fly but at least it...

It's completely natural and rational that we are worried given how emotionally invested we all are in this case and wanting to see justice for Helen, Boris and the family. But the reality borne out by empirical evidence is that juries do get it right for the most part and those that take longer...

I have a Zen like calm about the time taken and the inevitable outcome. If you take a look at http://www.britsoccrim.org/volume4/004.pdf you'll see that those Juries that take time to work through the legal questions and apply the law to the given evidence have a higher ratio of coming to the...

That's if they even consider it at all! His defence is so far fetched and self-contradictory it doesn't even warrant serious consideration. And even if you do scrutinize the defence case, as you say, it can easily be explained away.

He will be ignored, of that I'm sure. He even admitted himself under cross the sighting could have been in any one of several months. Out of all the sightings of Helen his is the least credible, given we know she'd been dead for many weeks.

Not to my knowledge. It's been mentioned ad infinitum on this forum though.

These should not constitute a reasonable doubt. Moreover, given the avalanche of bull *advertiser censored* defence evidence tailored to subvert the prosecution's case, it is remarkable that there aren't more coincidences that match Stewart's version. Even a broken clock is right twice a day! It's no more and...

You're right DD but that's barristers for you, they don't always fight fair and if he did overstep the mark Judge Bright would have intervened. It's a given he's going down and despite the Judge playing it with a straight bat I can see that when the jury find him guilty he will have the...

Like all barristers he will leave it up to the jury. He merely presents his clients version, however ludicrous. It's up to the jury to decide and he won't lose sleep over it whatever they decide. I've no doubt they will convict.

Just got back to the trial after a busy day expecting to dive into the summing up only to find this pompous old t**t still spouting *advertiser censored*! Lord, give me strength! My feckin boring alert went off 5 minutes in and he's still at! It's a brave strategy he's embarked on but my oh my I'd be very...

I promise you, all will be well. :) If this idiot doesn't go down for life we might as well empty every prisoner on to the streets and completely dispense with the judiciary. He's going down for 30 years and it will be a unanimous verdict. Anything else and I'll wear Dolly's stilettos before...

Defence is going through the motions. If they didn't it could be a mistrial. I've said from the time of Helen's death and finding out about his actions on the widows forum (leaving and making contact again) that he was a predator and planned this from the get go. All the subsequent evidence...

Exactly! Everything he is using in evidence viewed through the prism of psychopathy screams guilty!

Thanks IB, though I remember when people used to compliment me on my turn of pace! Alas, that ship has well and truly been scuttled! I think he probably will mention the cadaver dog although IS would just blame it on NiJo. Given Strimmer's already emphasized that it's either IS or NiJo perhaps...

Got to love the Strimmer! I've been reading through all the posts and updates during lunch and playing bingo ticking off all the points I wanted/expected Trimmer to make. Well what can I say..? HOUSE!!!!!!!!! This afternoon I'm going to play Bull-*advertiser censored* bingo as the defence auditions for the...
