Here is video of the Rhapsody of the Seas from the week Amy went missing. I have not spotted her in the footage but it gives a sense for the layout of the ship (not much has changed) and the ports of call.
1998 Video.
Here are two videos I recently released that share some new info about the case. In the first, I share a letter that Amy sent to her long-term partner, Mollie, a month prior to the trip.
Amy letter video.
And in the second is a tour of the ship, the Rhapsody of the Seas, along with info about...
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone from Websleuths who picked up a copy of True Crime Addict, my book on the Maura Murray case, last week. It sold out briefly in the bookstores around Boston but they're stocked again, now. The first editions will last another week or so. I also wanted...
Sorry for the tone. It's been a week. Websleuths doesn't like links so much, or I would link more.
My point is, every sighting should be treated as a lead until it's ruled out.
Speaking of sightings, did you hear about the Butson's sighting the day she went missing from around the corner from...
This is a very basic, well-known part of the case, and if you're just hearing this now, you really haven't done enough research. There was a post on a messagboard devoted to Maura's case years ago, in which a person wrote that Maura fled to Canada after striking Vasi with her car. The post took...
My opinion on whether she is alive or dead changes as new info comes in, the way it should when one keeps an open mind about these things. Today, I'm at 50/50. It would be irresponsible for me to take down info that references leads to sightings in Canada until I know for sure she is no longer...
Wrong again. There were several ads in Amherst and Canada. And the ads resulted in multiple leads which were given to the Cold Case Unit, including new sightings in Quebec City.
Good find, Clint. And I enjoy hearing you on the program. A few things to clear up, here, though. I don't think anybody is saying she was kicked out of West Point, literally. But the make-up theft from Fort Knox and the other troubles in the dorm were leading to serious repercussions at the...
The book was written in 2013 but I was stuck in contractual stuff. Luckily that's given me some time to improve on it. There are 50 some chapters in the book. Alden appears in 3. I knew what book I was writing around 2011. Nothing has changed from that. The focus is still Maura and where she is...
Have no fear. The book is 90% about Maura's disappearance. The subtitle will reflect that. There will be a few surprises, I'm sure, but those following the blog clearly know how I lean toward probable solutions. I'm not deliberately holding back any info that might solve the case.
As to why it...
It's pretty obvious who picked her up. The sighting by the woman at Butson's is far more substantiated than Forcier's. If you'd been to that area in the winter, you would know how ridiculous it is that someone could jog down that road. There were no shoulders. Five-foot tall snow drifts. You can...
I live in Cleveland. As a journalist, I covered the Amanda Berry/Gine DeJesus cases. I know Ariel Castro inside and out. You talk about Michelle Knight as if it's in the same ballpark as Maura Murray. It's this kind of short-sightedness that confuses details in this case. You simply don't know...
