Sometimes that shark, he looks right into you. Right into your eyes. You know the thing about a shark, he's got... lifeless eyes, black eyes, like a doll's eye. When he comes at ya, doesn't seem to be livin'.
No kidding. The line about not wanting the DP because it would set her free too easily, and would pain her family, takes the cake. It's been awhile since I've seen someone so dedicated to playing martyr. In the end it's ridiculous; she sculpts Her lies over and over to fit her narrative, and...
This whole thing is garbage, but it's late and I can't sleep, so why not play editor for a day:
- Right off the top, second paragraph: "Examples of cases where defendant's received a life sentence with the possibility of parole..." 'Defendants' is plural, not possesive, yet we've given it...
Sounds good - I'll have to try them out sometime. Reminds me of grilled banana splits, which I'lll make from time to time in the summertime - of course where you live it could be a year round menu item. Just take a banana and make a slice lengthwise, fill the middle with pieces from a...
I just don't know about the knife-first theory. I'm not passionate about it because the crime was just as gruesome and heinous either way. But I have trouble envisioning Arias taking a chance stabbing him with the possible physical altercation that might ensue, when a gun was at her disposal...
One of Arias' glaring weaknesses that she fails to grasp can perhaps be best summed up by the Bard: "Brevity is the soul of wit." Her letters, motions, and testimony are laced with extraneous prose that she appears to think garnners sympathy and establishes a bond with her audience; mostly it...
I think I remember something to that effect. Hopefully a longer version - the interior design police would likely frown upon such a small mat placed at the foot of a tub.:copcar:
Well, I suspect it still has some kind of rubberized edging along the bottom to help with slippage, but, as another poster noted, it could just be flipped over. However, if that were the case I'd expect a lot of blood lining the edges, soaked through the slats, smeared on the top. I don't...
Regarding the bath mat idea, I don't know that that would've made it any easier for her to drag him down the hallway. Most bath mats have rubber bottoms to help prevent sliding, especially on wet surfaces. Not that it makes it impossible, mind you, but even still, I'd argue dragging that dead...
I don't have a problem with the theory of her using the knife first, except that it does leave a lot to chance for someone that came equipped with a handgun and had choice of first attack. I get that she might have liked seeing him suffer, but again, what if he somehow deflected the first blow...
Wow. I've followed the ZQ disappearance of and on for some time now. I saw the article about the murdered couple yesterday on a news feed on my phone, but didn't have time to read it. What caught my eye, though, was the Food Network connection; my mom watches shows there on occasion. Had no...
EM: I was thinking about this again the other day. Whether it's due to hindsight or CSI-age bias, sloppy investigative work or all of the above, there seems to be some poor LE work at some point in a number of the unsolved cases I follow. That isn't to bash members of our LE, as I trust their...
I'm not sure i'm understanding your argument here; on it's face it sounds rather obtuse. Of course unassisted suicide is not a crime - by definition, the guilty party is the deceased; there is no one to prosecute. We do, however, have laws against those who play a part in coaxing or assisting...
Is there a special significance to it, outside of having had it through the trial? I've also been trying to figure out your avatar on and off through the proceedings as well. Keep thinking one of these days it'll hit me as I'm scrolling through a thread.
All are fair points. I don't know what the prosecution may or may not have at this point, but they have yet to show anything they can corroborate against the accused in any of the reports I've read either. Particularly sad for the family, but not a reason to rush any accusations/arrests...
I really don't think that's the case. Even if there was any collusion between Arias, et al, and a juror, they weren't guaranteed said juror would be in on the deliberations - remember, two were lotteried as alternates after closing statements were given.
