Found Deceased Spain - Esther Dingley, from UK, missing in the Pyrenees, Nov 2020 #7

Thanks for coming back Federico, and these new images are fantastic, especially the first one. You can clearly see the sheer scale of that path and it's fierce. I cannot get my head around what she was doing going up that, especially now I've seen how steep it is in that picture. I guess we will...

Found Deceased Spain - Esther Dingley, from UK, missing in the Pyrenees, Nov 2020 #7

Is there a direct path from the Pic de Sauvegarde to the Port de la Glere? Could she have gone there directly after the call to Dan, it was getting dark, an animal was out, chased her, she ran up the mountain, hence no spikes on her shoes & full backpack with her? Doesn't explain the missing...

Found Deceased Spain - Esther Dingley, from UK, missing in the Pyrenees, Nov 2020 #7

I wonder was she wearing those new shoes then? Perhaps not. I also wondered about the clothing she might be wearing. If she had different clothing on to the picture she sent Dan (assuming that picture was taken on the 22nd of course), that might indicate she died on the 23rd. Of course she may...

Federico, thanks for your map with the X marked on it. That path makes a lot of sense. Regarding this picture here, is your "X path" where I've marked B on the attached picture, rather than A? I can't see any path up A, but can see a very faint one at B (original picture also attached in order...

Found Deceased Spain - Esther Dingley, from UK, missing in the Pyrenees, Nov 2020 #7

Thank you to everyone for your brilliant insights and amazing map reading skills. I have a fair idea where she fell from now thanks to all your hard work (I think she was somewhere near to FredericoA's "x"). I followed along from time to time but didn't comment much as I'm not the best at map...

Found Deceased Spain - Esther Dingley, from UK, missing in the Pyrenees, Nov 2020 #7

Is the general consensus that she fell from either of these points on Pic de la Glere (see attached screenshots). The first SS, the red pin demarks the point (where the words Pic de la Glere are written). This is the point high up the pic where some thought she may have taken an incorrect...

Found Deceased Spain - Esther Dingley, from UK, missing in the Pyrenees, November 2020 #6

Thank you. This makes so much more sense to me. I indeed have been thrown off by the idea she went anti clockwise from the Pic down to the Venasque Refuge. But her potentially staying in a refuge at la Glere makes far more sense to me. Of course she may not have done that either, but given there...

Found Deceased Spain - Esther Dingley, from UK, missing in the Pyrenees, November 2020 #6

Thank you. So am I correct in thinking IF she had done (or intended to do) the route via Refuge de Venasque to Port de la Glere she would have gone anti clockwise, down via the Hospice de France? I'm trying to figure out how her remains ended up west of Sauvegarde when she was intending to go...

Found Deceased Spain - Esther Dingley, from UK, missing in the Pyrenees, November 2020 #6

Please help me out with these locations. Her final WhatsApp with Dan was from the Pic de Sauvegarde. And she told him she was going eastwards to the Refuge de Venasque. In order for her remains to have being found at Port de la Glere wouldn't she have needed to go westwards after the chat with...

Yes very good points. After reading about this other woman though, I'm now thinking Esther intentionally vanished with someone's help.

Found Deceased Spain - Esther Dingley, from UK, missing in the Pyrenees, November 2020 #5

Wow, a woman who disappeared in November in a Utah canyon was found living in a tent - it was her choice to disappear this way. She was found accidentally by a drone. I think she was mentioned in this thread way back? Maybe there is still hope to find Esther. Woman who vanished in Utah canyon...

Apologies link didn't work. Here it is again: https://www.theolivepress.es/spain-news/2020/12/10/hiker-who-vanished-near-spanish-border-was-not-as-happy-as-images-on-social-media-suggest-say-police/amp/

The Olive Press also has this article from 10 Dec 2020, and it says Dan was meant to meet Esther on the 25th at an event at Gascony. This is the first time I've heard about this event: https://www.theolivepress.es/spain-...as-images-on-social-media-suggest-say-police/ ".... Esther reached the...

Do you agree with Dan's theory about the third party? He seems so sure she can't have had an accident.

Really interesting observations by everyone, and thank you for all of this. This takes me back to my own time travelling - I travelled for a year when I was in my early 20s, about 20 years ago now. Backpacked. I was terrified of my mother at the time, and even though I was living independently...

Yes! Just want to thank SMM for your amazing observations, so much to think about now.

Yes I have thought this too. Just look at the person who went missing when ED & DC made their own video that time when the helicopter went past their place. That person wasn't all over the newspapers, yet it was the very same thing - person missing in the alps. This must happen a lot up there...

Excellent summary and I agree with all your points. ETA: sorry about the blank posts above, I was trying to post this reply here and I kept getting a "wait *advertiser censored* seconds message". Little did I know it was posting blank replies each time!
