CONVICTION OVERTURNED NC - Jason Corbett, 39, murdered in his Wallburg home, 2 Aug 2015 #11 *Guilty*

No, that is the notes from Dragonfly House where they were taken after the memorial for JC in North Carolina. I am not sure where the first statement came from as it is not in the appeal briefs.

CONVICTION OVERTURNED NC - Jason Corbett, 39, murdered in his Wallburg home, 2 Aug 2015 #11 *Guilty*

This is exactly what I wanted to read, many thanks to you and TippLass who put up the CoA judgement. I would really like to know where the comment mentioned in this judgement (the SC one) came from whereby it states that SC said....." 'what caused my dad being really mad' the night of the...

CONVICTION OVERTURNED NC - Jason Corbett, 39, murdered in his Wallburg home, 2 Aug 2015 #11 *Guilty*

My issue is really the fact the courts have specifically stated certain averments of the children should have been included. Specifically they state that SC said she had a nightmare that night which cooberates the Martens' defence of JC becoming violent after being awoken. The court of appeal...

CONVICTION OVERTURNED NC - Jason Corbett, 39, murdered in his Wallburg home, 2 Aug 2015 #11 *Guilty*

Does anyone have the judgment of the Supreme Court? I am having trouble putting my hands on it. I am still very unsure as to why two higher courts have now held that SC had a nightmare that night and, this evidence, would support the defence. I have looked again at the transcript of Sarah's...

i haven't yet read the judgment, as i said before i had my reservations. I will comment on the judgement when read, at the moment my heart goes out to JC and SC who have made their feelings clear. if anythung it seems they, and SM will be integral to the new trial.

CONVICTION OVERTURNED NC - Jason Corbett, 39, murdered in his Wallburg home, 2 Aug 2015 #11 *Guilty*

And now we wait for the outcome of the appeal. I'm really not sure which way this is going to go. Personal views / observations: * Why did the State on rebuttal not simply point out that the children's interviews also contradict the narrative put forward by the Martens' as to what happened...

GUILTY NC - Jason Corbett, 39, murdered in his Wallburg home, 2 Aug 2015 #10

I am heartbroken for Jack and Sarah, this judgment shines so much more light on what they have gone through. The fact that MM told them that their dad had, quite frankly, murdered their mother by holding a pillow over her face is horrendous. I am so utterly shocked.

GUILTY NC - Jason Corbett, 39, murdered in his Wallburg home, 2 Aug 2015 #10

Hoosgirl, worked, many thanks. Just started reading. Can anyone recall where Sarah says she awoke with a nightmare that evening? My recollection of the children's statements was that Jack said he was told that Sarah awoke due to a bad dream but that Sarah had said she had not awoken that night.

GUILTY NC - Jason Corbett, 39, murdered in his Wallburg home, 2 Aug 2015 #10

Is anyone Stateside able to get a copy of the full judgment? will the State appeal? at this time my thoughts are with SC and JC who now have to re-live this nightmare again. I wonder now, given their ages, whether JC and SC will make the decision to testify.

GUILTY NC - Jason Corbett, 39, murdered in his Wallburg home, 2 Aug 2015 #10

I watched the 48 hours special again. Although I still feel that it favoured the defence, I am not as annoyed by it as I was last week. I just feel that this was such a missed opportunity to counter some of the main arguments that the defence have put forward. There was no counter to the idea...

In all honesty, in my opinion, the 48hr show has done more for the defence than anything, all imo

NC - Loving father or abusive parent, spouse? Tales conflict in suspicious dog-leash death

What a rather odd case. I am very much undecided (on anything). Hopefully more will be revealed in due course.
