Indy - the profile you've created looks very interesting indeed. Agree with the young part - the perp is likely in his twenties. The burning of her body parts seems less of a ritual, and more of a confused action that an inexperienced perp would take. Almost like he didn't what to do at the end...

It's possible, but unlikely, IMHO. Reason why I think it's planned is that the whole thing seems to have gone through so cleanly. Two months post the tragic event, there seem to be few pointers as to what happened. And the perp had a limited time window to do this - it isn't like the body was...

Definitely not a random crime. Doesn't seem like a case of a nutter walking around the woods and chancing upon her. But also doesn't seem like a case of someone meeting her innocently, snapping and doing this in a fit of rage. It seems planned - someone who knew her routine. Sent from my...

If the murders are linked, then the killer is from NYC. Someone who knew VM in NYC, either at work or socially. I had this thought, but felt it was far-fetched. The perp in MA seemed to know the area well. It might be useful for LE to find out if Vanessa's and Karina's social circles...

But how would a roofer doing a repair job for her mom have come to know of Vanessa's bi-monthly jogging schedule? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That's where a car would have come into the picture. The perp could have known where she lived, and where she went jogging. I don't think this was a case of someone waiting by the side of the road and pulling her into the woods. That would have been too risky - the ensuing struggle could have...

Agree, the chances of a random guy waiting in a remote area for some woman to run by are negligible. It's got to be someone who knew her, or at least knew of her jogging pattern. Most likely someone who knew her. I just wouldn't rule out the possibility of the perp being someone from NYC who...

Wonder if the perp is from NYC - someone who knew her from there, knew she went to MA every couple of weekends etc. Slim possibility though - more likely someone local, probably someone close to BS Road. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Agree it seems like someone she knew. Given VM had lived in NYC for a bit, she'd have been wary, and unlikely to get drawn into a close interaction with a stranger in the woods. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just joined WS recently, and this is my debut post here. I was reading about the Vanessa Marcotte case earlier on the Web, and chanced upon the WS site. The reason for my interest in this case is that a good friend of mine works at Google, and VM worked for my friend. She was his assistant in...
