Rocky, good to see you're occasionally checking in! I check the site perhaps once a month or so. What happened to Mollie Tibbetts has recently brought Vanessa to the forefront of my mind. Sadly and infuriatingly, there seems to be quite a few similarities between the two cases.
It's nice to see some folks occasionally checking in. I've been occasionally googling the case to see if there's been any progress and checking the site, as well.
Yes, indeed, the wheels of justice do move very slowly.
I'll post if and when I see something on this case and hope others will...
Yes, I agree. I think it was likely he planned to abduct/rape, but perhaps didn't plan the murder -- or, rather I should say, didn't plan to murder her when and where he did. Vanessa put up more fight than he expected, which may have threw him. Nonetheless, I still believe his lack of...
Thanks weepingangel for posting the link to that article.
Rocky, excellent analysis. It does seem a quandary why he seems to have had a gas can with him, yet seems to have purchased the gas after he killed Vanessa. The gas can in auto could possibly indicate premeditation, though not...
Importance of women carrying pepper spray, a stun gun, etc.
This may seem OT, but it seems like it could be very related to Vanessa's case.
I'd guess many of you have read about the gruesome story of Kim Wall, the Swedish journalist who it appears was killed by a well-known Danish inventor...
Evey, Vanessa didn't have a boyfriend, to my knowledge. Her father said something to that effect. And there would be no reason to believe she'd be hiding a boyfriend.
It really isn't -- or shouldn't be -- material to the case, but, as Rocky has said numerous times in the past, it's good to...
Fully agree with you, Fred. I included in my post that was snipped by the mod that the racist card against the police was likely going to be used.
I wish the mod just deleted my entire post, rather than snipping out pieces. Doing so, changes context greatly.
Good reminder about him already...
I hear you, Fred. The accused are, indeed, entitled to a vigorous defense, BUT Ryan's constantly spewing on trying to make AO out as the altar boy (as Rocky aptly put it) and generate sympathy makes me ill when he knows damn well that his client brutally murdered Vanessa and then burned her...
FYI -- AO is scheduled to be arraigned on the murder charge tomorrow, 7/26.
I can barely pull up news on this as his scowling animal-like face mirrors his character, so it's just revolting.

Hi Fred,
I wanted you to know that my comment was not aimed at you -- it was a general comment to all supporting CEM's take that going down the speculation road on a public forum has the possibility of aiding the defense. Unlikely, yes, but within the realm of possibilities.
Respectfully snipped.
I agree with this 1000%! Please let's not publicly pick apart any part any of LE's actions/the prosecution's case.
Even if the trooper had a radio and laptop in his car, quickly grabbing a pen and writing the plate no. on his hand seems plausible. It may have occurred...

According to this Boston Globe article, the animal is due back in court on June 28 (a Wed.): "He is scheduled to next appear in Leominster...
Thanks, Rocky. It's very helpful to have someone who is well-versed in court procedures around.
TGIF! Happy long weekend to those of you who have three days off work.
No murder charge yet -- and I'm sure that would have to be made public. (Someone can correct me if I'm wrong -- it does happen!)
I'm not sure if I'm reading more into your question than you meant...But if you were wondering whether the lack of the murder charge could have anything to do with...
Thanks, Rocky, that was helpful to me and others, I'm sure.
After reading your input and quickly reading what seems a good summary (http://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/when-does-sense-waive-the-preliminary-hearing.html) of the reasons why the prelim hearing might be waived, I agree with...
Good question -- I don't know and came here to inquire the same and saw your post. I saw no indication when I googled around a little that the May 24 date was changed -- but maybe we'd not know that.
Anyone? Rocky?
Just a reminder...the human piece of garbage is due back in court for a pre-trial hearing tomorrow. Don't know time or if it was even announced. I wonder if the big brave murderer, who hid out in the adjacent room during his first court appearance, is "scared" (to use his attorney's...
Gt
I'm still here as well awaiting same. I think many folks are still around and occasionally to frequently checking in, CEM. There's just not much we can talk about more than we have and stay within the site's rules, etc., as Rocky summed up well.
