I've always thought this case could have sexual undertones. Tom could have easily been duped into something by an older man and then threatened to expose him to his parents or the authorities. To me, this seemed like a preplanned murder of vengeance or fear of exposure to the community...
I noticed a "For Lease" sign in the yard of the house in the photos. Sounds to me like they might have been in financial distress and not paying their rent.
Her husband commits suicide and she fakes an intrusion and hits herself with a wrench. Come on! I'm not buying it! Most likely, they got into a fight, he smacked her, she waited for him to go to sleep and then she shot him.
They probably had a fight that lasted into the night.
If...
With these murders happening in one of the most affluent neighborhoods of Omaha, it has always surprised me that the people living there are not more vocal about the ineptitude of the local police department to solve these crimes.
It could be a case of "not wanting to rock the boat" for the former Police Chief if his retirement was near, especially if it had any CU or political implications that might uncover something shocking to the community.
IMO, there is something wrong with a police department who cannot solve a double homicide that happened in broad daylight in a residential neighborhood after 3 1/2 years and yet refuses to release any information on their investigation that might refresh or jog someone's memory.
Did they...
Hi WM:
I've always thought the briefcase (if the man at the door was the killer) contained knives to be used in the murders. It could also have been taken there to conceal anything the killer took from the home.
I still think blackmail could have been the reason for the killings. Tom...
The fact that nothing was taken from the house in this case is HUGE to me. This makes it appear to be more of a rage, revenge or hired killing.
And with the relatively short span of time from the time Tom got home until his father got home makes that even more apparent to me. Someone went...
I think a better title for the book would be IMPERFECT PROSECUTION. After all, they had weeks to convince the jurors that the defendant was guilty and they were unable to accomplish that.
All I can tell you is that his actions totally turned me "off". He was practically
"high-fiving" it as he walked into the courtroom to hear the verdict only to find out they'd lost. And then he was on the first plane to NYC to be on TV (which was probably pre-arranged thinking he would be...
I would much rather read a book from the winning attorney than the losing one. I wonder if he will touch on the subject of how much his head shaking, eye rolling and snickering probably hurt the prosecution and influenced the jurors.
I've always wondered if it was only one neighbor who saw the stranger enter the Hunter home. If so, could they have been covering for someone with a fabricated sighting? I also wonder if Tom had any friends in the immediate neighborhood who visited back and forth with him after school.
Tom...
You know it's possible the dark complected stranger coming and going through the front door may have happened before the murders even took place. What if one of Tom's friends came over shortly after that and came to the back or side door. Maybe he and Tom got into an argument over a game or...
