OH - Pike County: 8 people from one family dead as police hunt for killer(s) - #25

Good question. This has been my theory all along (outside killers with a local helper). But who was the local person? Maybe Kenneth since he was last & had only one gun shot?

"Honestly, why not just say; We know nothing new to tell you, and we aren't going to tell you what we do know. G'bye." Haha totally agree! They have no clue who did this. What a waste of time this press conference was!

This is why I've stopped reading these message boards. People are so fixated on the idea that family did this and refuse to entertain any other theories. I guarantee that if family members pulled the trigger(s), there would be arrests already. For goodness sake, these people have lost 8...

I don't think the fact that at least one victim had other injuries mitigates the possibility of hired killers. They may have been looking for something or trying to get a debt paid and been told to use all means necessary to achieve the goal. Or someone woke up and fought back before being shot...

I think Investigation Discovery would be a great one to contact since they recently did that series about the missing/dead Chillicothe women. Same area, some of the same players (Junk). Those women were admittedly not very sympathetic (prostitutes, drug users), but producers were open about...

Totally agree. I've felt for a while that this was a drug-related, professional hit by people with military experience. Whoever shot these people knew what they were doing. This wasn't a couple of locals or amateurs. This being tied to a larger, federal investigation is very possible imo.

I totally agree with you. Read it the same way.

The only way I can see a family member being directly involved is if it's a distant family member. You have to be a special kind of sociopath to participate in killing 8 family members you see and talk to often. I'm not close with one of my sisters, but I would never want to see anything bad...

What do we know about witnesses the night of the murder? I recall hearing that a hunter heard gunshots. Did neighbors hear any? In such a remote area, I wouldn't be surprised of neighbors didn't hear anything.

Isn't it odd though that LE hasn't released more information? If they had no idea who did this, then that's typically when they start asking the public for help (I've watched enough episodes of The First 48 to know that lol). The fact that they haven't had to do this perhaps suggests they do...

Unless it truly was a Mexican cartel (who I'm sure couldn't care less what we're thinking) I think there are locals reading these who have direct knowledge of what happened. And yes, very creepy!

Cockfighting didn't become a felony in Ohio until last month, which is really shameful but also probably means people from all over the place were coming here to do it before then. But so far I haven't seen much evidence that they were actually engaging in this.

Totally agree. Don't know about you, Cryptic, but when I talk about non-local killers I'm not talking about a cartel. I'm thinking more regionally, such as KY or Detroit or maybe even Columbus or Cleveland. Who knows. While I think the hit may have been ordered from a local, I don't think the...

The fact that he was only shot once is intriguing.

I've seen speculation that CR1 had a large sum of money in his trailer. That opens up any number of possibilities.

Does that usually include the women, too? I don't understand why the 3 females were killed. They all seemed to be mothers, I know DR worked too. I wonder what they did to deserve this.

Haha! And I'm sure LE isn't too eager to provide that info to the public. So I guess we'll just keep on keeping on.

So what would LE consider deeper than drugs? Money? Inheritance? Land dispute?

Or it just means they wanted to be sure the victims were dead. Does anyone know if the military trains soldiers to shoot multiple times?
