GUILTY AZ - Maribel Gonzales, 13, murdered, Tucson, 3 June 2014 *Arrest*

I think Isa will be a tougher case because of the time it took to find her. I also think the way the media, the cops, and a lot of people on this very site hurt the case by dragging the Celis family through the dirt, often in extremely racist ways, will have a lasting effect. Sadly, I think the...

GUILTY AZ - Maribel Gonzales, 13, murdered, Tucson, 3 June 2014 *Arrest*

Here's a link to a thread with all of the coverage from the local Tucson daily newspaper. I can't read the articles, though. They're behind a paywall. Out-of-towners who don't regularly visit the Arizona Daily Star's website might have luck getting a few articles, at least.

GUILTY AZ - Maribel Gonzales, 13, murdered, Tucson, 3 June 2014 *Arrest*

Caitlin Schmidt of the Arizona Daily Star will be covering the trial. She covered the case before, but she's been moved around to several different areas at the Star so I didn't know if she would still be doing so. Caitlin's tweet about the trial

GUILTY AZ - Maribel Gonzales, 13, murdered, Tucson, 3 June 2014 *Arrest*

This dude is going to drag this out forever, isn't he? By the time the trial for Isa's murder starts, she will have been dead for a decade and a few weeks. Maribel just a couple of months short of 8 years. I can't imagine what the Gonzales and Celis families are going through. I see that...

MISTRIAL AZ - Isabel Celis, 6, Tucson, 20 April 2012, found deceased in 2017* *Arrest* #27

Sorry, I have been offline for a bit. They don't usually report on status hearings in our local news, so there's nothing in the press about that. I assume it happened, though, since those hearings are basically check-ins with the lawyers to see how things are going. Since the June evidentiary...

GUILTY AZ - Maribel Gonzales, 13, murdered, Tucson, 3 June 2014 *Arrest*

The decision had been put off twice, but the Pima County Attorney made it official on Friday that her office would seek the death penalty. The judge told Clements' attorneys to get in gear as far as objecting to pre-trial tests, including IQ tests, that she has ordered because "we don't take 5...

Absolutely. I am local and live very near both Freedom Park and the home where Isa was abducted, so I am following it pretty closely. I am crossing my fingers that this becomes a death penalty case come January.

This article from the local NBC affiliate is the only recent article I found on Twitter. It says nothing at all. I will ask Caitlin Schmidt later today and see if she knows what's up. She covers the courts for the Arizona Daily Star. Man accused in killing of Tucson girls to appear in court Monday

CA Ca - Matthew Dix, 27, Arcata, 2 Dec 2017 Murdered

Don't see any reason it wouldn't run for four hours without running out of fuel. It's not taxing the engine very much. I have driven for 8+ hours without needing fuel. Just sitting there idling isn't going to use so much that the truck would stop running. When I visited Arcata and Eureka back...

Found Deceased AZ - Isabel Mercedes Celis, 6, Tucson, 20 April 2012 *Arrest* #26

The only interesting thing I see there is discussion of two other young Latinas who went missing here. I tend to doubt that the cases are related, although they could be, I guess. Everything else is the same old garbage from people who like to talk, but don't know any more than anyone else...

GA - Caliyah McNabb, 15 days, Newton County, 7 Oct 2017 *Arrests*

States can get crazy with the "packaging" definition, too. For example, here in Arizona, people have been charged for paraphernalia for having pockets if they were carrying their drugs there. This is done in order to bump charges up to felonies, because simple possession is not a felony in...

AZ AZ - David Yurek, 57, Tucson, 23 March 2017

Here's the original press release from the Pima County Sheriff's Department. No new information in it, and no updates since the 30th of March, 2017. I hope he is just lost among our many local homeless people. If he is out in the desert somewhere, he could be lost for years, if not forever...

I think the mom was just exhausted. He told her to get some sleep. He was high, and freaked out on the baby. He hid the drugs he was doing. When I was taking care of my babies and when I worked nights, I would fall asleep standing. I woke several times when I fell and hit my head. Exhaustion...
