It is all interpretation i guess but i hear nothing in the interview which "debunks" TMs claim that MF told him that he felt Jason was to blame for the death of his daughter.
Mrs F comes across as a decent woman but no wife can state with certainty that her husband never said something...
In relation to collaborating evidence wouldnt the nurse who says that Jason outlined to her that he got angry for unexplained reasons count as that? I think the defence could have outlined a narrative that DV existed in the Panther Creek home.
Hello all,
The recording of home life at panther creek - included in link from 7:30 to 8 minutes- do people think it is real? Have the Corbetts commented on whether they believe the tape to be genuine?
if it is real it definitely shows things were not happy.
Also so is that SC crying out at...
Where did the BMW reference come from?
as far as I know Jc drove a Honda Accord and mm rove a a Honda Pilot.
both nice cars but not BMW.
i think money is at the heart of this.
what was Jc salary?
Did jc have a degree?
was source of jc wealth insurance from death of first
wife?
vvery sad...

Is there any sympathy at all for the Martens (excluding Molly)?
I feel like I inhabit a different planet to the other posters. I respect peoples viewpoint but mine is fundamentally different.
JC suffered an awful death but TM and SM will pay an extraordinary price - I would say their fate is...
Do people think the Martens will appeal?
When is the earliest this could happen?
I have sympathy for SM & TM. I dont think they premeditated anything. I genuinely think Molly dragged them into it.What a way to end up at nearly 70.
Will the civil trial be halted now?
The Martens have been found guilty. By the time they settle there legal fees there will be nothing for anyone to get from them financially.
The Martens are entitled to be tried in a court of law and to then either walk free or to serve their sentence. Regardless of the outcome here I see no winners - Not JC, not his children, not his family, not any of the Martens. All involved have have paid a huge price. Some will pay more...
Great post Dale,
I think the defence did a good job also, better than the prosecution at any rate.
In my head it would be hard to say that TM and MM were not acting in self defense "beyond reasonable doubt".
As you say you have a husband who was drinking - <modsnip> and who "gets angry for no...
I wonder how much of the court discussion we are missing.
Based on what i have heard i am not sure how the jury is in a position to make any judgement at all.
I hope that both the prosecution and defense make some attempt to outline a narrative during closing.
TM acted in self defence in his opinion.
Martens said he remembers three times that he successfully hit Jason in the back of the head with the baseball bat, though he said he tried a number of other times as they were moving down the hallway toward the master bathroom, in an effort to...
There was a man beaten to death by some combination of his wife and father in law.
This screams bad relationship on all sides to me.
The Martens were not happy with the relationship. TL also testified that JC was unhappy. The kids made statements outlining that the relationship was "unhealthy"...
sshhh!
Your posts are excellent. I like the way you look at it from both sides.
You are particularly correct in my opinion in outlining that it takes 2 parties to create a bad relationship.
Thank you.
The statement is of limited use.
That is all it is - a statement.
it does not represent proof.
it is still a case of " he said he said" and who people wish to believe.
After the physical injuries evidence I was convinced that both TM and MM would be found guilty but I am not so sure now -...
Hello all,
Can anyone outline the next steps?
When will the verdict be pronounced?
Under the circumstances TM performed well.
I have sympathy for TM. I think that he is also a victim. MM dragged him into this.
In fairness to TM i dont think this is the type of thing he ever expected to be...
A good performance from TM from the way i see it.
He stuck to his story.
The loosing of the glasses is a good addition. Basically the prosecution are claiming that MM was under threat, it was chaotic and in the chaos JC ended up dead. The chaos does not allow TM or MM to recall the exact...
Hello all,
I am simply trying to wade through the mud of the "facts" of this case.
It would be interesting to know who requested that Mr.Fitzpatrick make a sworn statement, and when that request was made.
That in no was casts any aspersions on anyone but if we knew that it would further...
