This is a problem faced everywhere I guess.. Is there an argument for shortening the period of a trial where jurors are present somehow. And always sequestering them... one thing I do know... They shouldn't be allowed talk to the press like rock stars afterwards. That was highly inappropriate...
Simple question.. if a judge talks to the jurors and any one of them admits breaking his instructions about not talking about the case.with others, googling it etc.. is that enough to order a retrial.? Like in the real world... I would say most people would talk about it a little with their...
There's definitely a bias on either side of the Atlantic towards this case. I guess that's to be expected. Plus. Few people woulda seen that 20/20 show over here
Interesting theory. Surely the Gardai would have checked those by now though?
The times reckons its a tip off, somebody claims he was buried there by a criminal gang he met by chance that night...
The brick is the main reason she was rightfully convicted. Tom sold her down the river a bit when he said he didnt use it. So to not try and explain its presence is baffling in the extreme.
Reading MMs statement and watching the interview snippet on ABC....It is very telling. She remembers...
If she explains why the brick was there in the ABC interview.. Was this explanation given in trial? It didn't seem like it was from following on twitter and listening to the Jury Foreman. If not, why not! Seems like a fairly crucial detail. Unless her lawyer thought it was a lie?
I stared at that handwriting for a good ten minutes.. It looks very similar to me. The I is defintely the give away. Well spotted! If that was her handwriting. It doesn't mean much by itself but it shows the kind of fantasist character she is in a nutshell..
Leave aside everything else. IMO There was enough in those photos to convict.. the dent in the wall by the socket meaning they swung and missed a few times too.. how many times did they swing that bat.? .. the large amount of blood on the brick. The foreman put it very well in his interview...
I wonder if this was answered in her statement. I'd love to read that.
<modsnip> It is still very strange to have it in the bedroom. I have done a fair bit of work in my garden at home, but never once did it occur to me to lug a brick up to the bedroom to sleep with at night. But then again...
It does sound like it was a mistake by the prosecution not to submit the video interview as evidence. The only reasonable conclusion you could take is that her statement doesn't deviate from the written one. In any trial, a consistent witness is much more believable right?.
However, I believe...
We have yet to see MMs full statement to the police. If detail is lacking . It is because it doesnt suit the defendants case. Which tells it's own story IMO.
The paving slab is key for proving MMs guilt imo. Am I correct in saying she gave a statement saying she tried and failed to use it? This is a proven lie. It is almost certain she initiated the attack or joined in at a stage when he was unconscious on the floor. As for TM I would take his...
