Jury now asked to step out and leave mid closing argument. Judge makes sure states presentation has been officially submitted in evidence.

During a trial do the team's get a chance to find out near the end of a trial how many jurors say G or NG ? To give them an idea of where it's going. Does anyone know?

That is up to the judge. Regardless of verdict, the judge may ask the foreman for the count, and the judge may poll the jury one-by-one. The lawyers can request the judge do this, and the judge may or may not. In high profile cases the judge may also issue a temporary gag order on everyone, but in normal cases like this one the jurors may leave and speak to the media or the various attorneys on their own and give an account of the jury room debate and count. It is really all up to the judge.

Where was the financial motive that was plastered all over the press such as money being moved by both MM and JC.. Nothing presented on this, evidence of JC moving back to Ireland, nothing presented on this either, no explanation of the paving stone, nothing on DV from either side that each side where claiming against the other. It's most strange. I don't think we were ever know why it happened. If I were on that jury I would certainly want to know what went down in that bedroom prior to JC being attacked so viciously. It happened for a reason and I can't see any reason offered by the prosecution other than TM didn't like him. The defence have offered no reason either.

We have yet to see MMs full statement to the police. If detail is lacking . It is because it doesnt suit the defendants case. Which tells it's own story IMO.

I think I am caught up current to latest tweet 6 minutes ago by Ben at LexDispatch and closing arguments are continuing - there has been NO DEAL.

A "deal" would mean that the defendants have agreed to plead guilty to something - a "plea agreement" or "plea deal" - usually a lower charge because they believe the trial did not go well for them.

Appeals in the USA are only based on legal technicalities or newly discovered evidence.

I don't understand the MF motion, or why they thought that was a good idea to begin with; but that argument was only for TM, not MM. I'm not at all sure how important that was to his defense. Molly's situation however, is made only more complicated in that the relationships that define DV under the law, have in her case been severed. I mean, if I was on trial for this, you can believe that a similar interview given by my son would be allowed because it would speak to the truth of the matter as only a child can do. That's why I see it as somewhat an infringement of her right to a fair trial. Maybe Holton submitted JC will to show that he never followed through on an implied by marriage promise of making Molly their legal mother?
