    Yes. They're going through judges instructions to jury, about charges and law. That comes after closing arguments.

I personally don't believe there was, I personally would be of the view mm instigated this as she instigated hurt in I'm sure a lot of people's lives, daddy joined in willingly after the fact because after all jason meant nothing to him.

I'd also say that that much has alledgedly been told of her treatment of one of the poor children that it should be looked at outside this case. Many many many victims of mm.

Just my opinion.

Don’t think she initiated the actual killing although she was the prime-mover in it. It’s more than likely it was a bridge too far for her as when this once begun had to be seen to the end and a paying brick is not a weapon of choice for such an assault.

Daddy is a big experienced boy and like us all we all have individual responsibilities.The someone told me do is no defense and the fact assisting in the assault show a callous nature and even more culpability.

Perhaps a mistrial, maybe a hung jury. Holton must believe his case for MM was gutted by the Judge disallowing the interviews. It could be grounds for appeal under the hearsay exception rule if they find her guilty. Then, she maybe could get a new trial. Something different is going on here, for sure. IMO

I wonder whether it was the disallowing of the MF interview that broke their case? I think they probably always realised the childrens' interviews would never be allowed.

I know we agreed to streamline, but this is ludicrous?
 
Judge Lee wanted to make sure Ms Martens-Corbett understood that she didn’t have to testify and that jurors would be instructed not to presume anything about her guilt if she chose not to take the witness stand.

Judge Lee also asked her if she understood that if she elected to testify, she would be subject to cross-examination by prosecutors and forced to provide information that could incriminate her.

"Yes," she said again.

When asked if she had any questions, she said, "No, sir."

I have to say this has been a most peculiar trial from what info we have been dripfed from the press. I am shocked at both sides resting so soon tbh after all the fanfare. Where was the financial motive that was plastered all over the press such as money being moved by both MM and JC.. Nothing presented on this, evidence of JC moving back to Ireland, nothing presented on this either, no explanation of the paving stone, nothing on DV from either side that each side where claiming against the other. It's most strange. I don't think we were ever know why it happened. If I were on that jury I would certainly want to know what went down in that bedroom prior to JC being attacked so viciously. It happened for a reason and I can't see any reason offered by the prosecution other than TM didn't like him. The defence have offered no reason either.

There is a big big change in her demeanour as the Irish independent have posted in another video shot of her coming to court. It looks to me she is distancing herself from both TM and SM and could be very well be in an uncontrollable mood swing and very well be at the blame game of her own family. I also note the absence of siblings and other associates which was common at the start.

As state reviews case in closing arguments, defense objects multiple times. Judge has now called all counsel up to review rules of arguments

It is required. If the jury finds not guilty of 2nd degree murder, they must consider was the situation then voluntary manslaughter or not guilty. Usually the jury must also consider involuntary manslaughter but the particulars here (bludgeoning) do not apply. See:
