It was heartbreaking to read. His son logged the cache as a DNF. Other cachers have also logged notes- those that met him and expressing condolences.

I just checked the geocaches in that area and it looks like other cachers are writing in the logs that he is missing, his handle, what geocaches he had already logged and are looking for him too.

Did anyone look to see if he logged any geocaches out there near the area his car was found?

Not much out in Kettle Falls and not much detail about what led up to him walking off the job site either. Does sound odd.

I was just in Idaho a couple of weeks back. I too had no idea people hunted mountain goats. They do indeed climb up rocky areas like it’s no problem. I was amazed. I was too scared to climb over where these guys were.

I had an experience once where I was indeed blown over by wind while backpacking along a ridge. It was so scary. The next day my face was swollen from the winds.

Came here to say this. I love over in Spokane. Nothing scenic at 1am to drive out to see. it’s all sage brush.

Good to know! I don’t use FB but my husband shared it with me and I don’t really know what is and isnt ok to share. I love the outdoors and have hiked the PCT. Hope his family can get resolution.

Bump for Kris. I am sure this will get taken down but the Kris FB group had someone post that they think they found his tent. A hiker reported it and it is being checked out now that they have the location.

I’m from San Diego and that particular hospital in Hillcrest is notorious for discharging people. That particular location received a high volume of the homeless population and I imagine it’s a turn and burn type of situation. I had a patient once who was discharged in a wheelchair in a hospital...

It is. I rarely run in my neighborhood anymore and I wear a long sleeve and leggings when I do. Never tank tops or shorts anymore. Too many men pull over, yell, etc. I have had someone try and get me in their car before. Scared the crap out of me.

I bet the hiker who ran into him feels terrible. I know if I saw someone acting that disoriented on a trail and could I’d try and get them somewhere or make a call. I hope he is found alive and safe. This makes me sooooo sad.

Doesn’t seem like it. I always thought it was weird that has friend was so active here and on Reddit then dropped off the face of the earth.

As a fellow ultra runner I think he may have gotten off course or has an injury that knocked him off course. I hope he is found quick. I’ve been disoriented out on trail a couple of times due to heat or getting off trail and it’s scary.
