I think the flip flops are actually likely to be Brian's. They appear larger than Gabby's and the straps don't appear to have the pattern that Gabby's do. He is shown wearing what could possibly be the ones in question in their YouTube video.

Maybe it's just me, but I think the black object visible on the page or cover or whatever part it is we're seeing of the book looks like Dora the Explorer's hair. I know Caylee liked Dora. I agree that it's not the book she's seen reading in the video.
