First of all, her lawyer's statement seems highly inappropriate. Is he trying to prevent a trial?
If she's judged fit for trial, bring her to court and set up her jail cell to remove all articles that could be used to commit suicide.
My guess (as a layman) is that her mind was basically destroyed by the incredible amount of powerful psychotropic drugs prescribed by the doctors. Just my unlearned opinion.

I hate the euphemisms that are constantly used in these tragic cases. How about deeply disturbed, or depressed, or desperate?

It's too bad it takes forty years or more to execute anyone here in California. If anyone deserves the death penalty it's this cold, heartless woman.

There's already talk/speculation of a possible not guilty by reason of insanity plea. If that happens, expect a very long wait, namely, years before a trial.
California courts are incredibly slow in these kind of cases.

We should be prepared for a very long wait until any possible trial, as the psychiatrists enter the stage and court-ordered mental exams begin. I'm talking years of waiting for a resolution.

I would be fine without any television coverage going forward. The last thing we need is for these proceedings including a trial to be turned into a circus, ala O.J., where the country was transfixed by all-day live coverage.
The governor there has issued a moratorium on the death penalty, but even without that, only a handful of condemned inmates have been executed in the last four decades.
There are men on death row that were sentenced in the early 1980's and are still there, no closer to their execution dates than...
A Memorial Scholarship Fund was set up in Lisa Cosenza's honor to help young people in need. She was actually helping to rehabilitate the troubled young man who cruelly and suddenly took her life away.
