I feel so much for Heidi's mom. And, based on what we know about how the investigation unfolded, I think it's mostly a case of hindsight.
If Mrs. Broussard had mentioned to investigators that she believed MF could have been faking her parallel pregnancy and/or that she always felt MF was "off"...
Yes, it's true.
There's a good summary of the Grand Jury process in the U.S. at Wikipedia: Grand juries in the United States - Wikipedia
Snip:
Grand jury proceedings are secret and take place behind closed doors. Prosecutors present evidence by reciting facts or providing witness testimony...

Sometimes the loved ones of the murder victim prefer life in prison w/o parole over the death penalty -- due to their religious beliefs, or because they don't want to have to deal with all the appeals, or for other personal reasons.
If Heidi's closest loved ones want the death penalty for MF, I...
It will be interesting to see if prosecutors offer to take the death penalty off the table in exchange for a guilty plea (assuming MF is not deemed mentally incompetent).
If she were to plead guilty, it would save a lot of time associated with pre-trial hearings, trial, mandatory appeals...
I...
Thank you PommyMommy.
My understanding is the same as your's -- it doesn't appear that prosecutors have decided whether or not to seek the death penalty.
If that's accurate, "up to life in prison" is misleading in that it's not the most severe sentence/penalty MF could receive if convicted...

I wondered why prosecutors would have already taken the death penalty off the table, based on the snipped statement that MF could "face up to life in prison".
In reading the linked article, it now says "Fieramusca could face the death penalty or life in prison if convicted of capital...
I keep checking for case updates and coming up empty. It's frustrating, but certainly nowhere near as frustrating as it is for Shanna and Diederik's family who just spent their fourth Christmas without their murdered loved ones. :(
Snip (from Linskid's link)...
Maybe if Tony Todt's confession is full of self-serving lies, the manner and cause of deaths will shed more light on his mindset.
I wonder if he possibly had life insurance policies on Megan and/or the children and was caught before he could figure out how to capitalize on them without...
Very sad. Rest in peace Megan, Tyler, Alek and Zoe. Like everyone else, I'd really hoped for a better outcome to this missing persons case.
And, like many others, this reminds me of another family annihilator case --- Christian Longo. John List was before my time and seemed like a one-off...
Hats off to the cold case detectives. It's really good to read that Pamela's family finally has some degree of closure.
Sounds like Lindahl was guilty of several rapes and at least three murders.
Who knows how many more people he would have hurt/killed if he hadn't accidentally killed...
In reading about similar (comparatively rare) crimes, it's interesting, and sometimes frustrating, how differently the criminal justice system has handled the cases of women killing other women to take their fetuses or newborns as their own. Fetal abduction - Wikipedia

I think there's a good possibility that MF was experiencing maternal desire psychopathy as well.
She may truly believe that Margo is HER baby and came to view Heidi as an obstacle to be outplayed and eliminated.
That might be part of the 'case complexity' cited by LE. MF obviously...
Yeah, MF's mugshot(s) wasn't publicly released until after she was arrested, so the eyewitness couldn't have seen it in the media prior to Dec. 19th.
It is possible that the eyewitness saw recent pics of Heidi on the news and was able to identify her as the woman who got into back of the car...
LE was knocking on residents' doors for a few days.
And, I also get the impression that eyewitness "M.W." lives in the complex, but I don't think that's a given as the AA does not refer to her as a "resident". She could have been visiting someone who lived there or had another reason to be...
The parking lot eyewitness may not even have remembered or realized the significance of what she saw until LE officers caught her at home asked her questions about the missing mother and baby (or until the relevance clicked after hearing more news about the case).
To her, those few seconds she...
Oh, I agree. No make-up and not being prepared to go out explains some of the changes in appearance between MF's mugshots and the earlier photos.
I just think it's possible that during the course of faking a pregnancy and/or planning a contingency exit, she might have been altering her...
It really is a stark change in appearance in a short amount of time. I still think that may have been by design.
If MF was using a moon bump to fake pregnancy, maybe she figured she needed to put on a bunch of weight anyway to be more convincing immediately after (supposedly) giving birth...
