Hey friends. It's been a while.
Just logging in because I just finished listening to a podcast -- Season one of "In the Dark" about the Jacob Wetterling case -- a kid who was abducted and murdered in 1989 and whose case wasn't solved for 27 years. The podcast came out a few years ago, I think...
I'm sure you and I have had this conversation before, akh :) but IMO, it doesn't make sense to say she "followed him" when she was too messed up to walk herself. He carried her out of the building. Likewise, no one reports her talking at all, and some people who saw her suggested she was too...
My opinion? I think Corey got her really drunk deliberately (the lawsuit docs say he was buying her drinks and 'helping her drink them' when she already couldn't stand) and he wanted to be alone with her. He was probably trying to take her back to her place because it was closest, or to the...
The investigators on the Lohud video who were describing surveillance video said it was a combination of him pulling, dragging and carrying Lauren down the alley. Then they demonstrated how he carried her by hanging her over his shoulders.
According to the surveillance video and described by the investigators, Lauren fell out of the elevator into the wall in the lobby. Corey picked her up off the floor and "helped her out of the building", later carrying and dragging her down the alley.
What baffles me the most in this case is that with all the surveillance video, there wasn't a clear description of a vehicle leaving the area (except the infamous white truck). In Hannah's case, didn't they catch several images of DM's Kia leaving town? I wonder what he was driving earlier -...
Yes, check out the Lohud article with the interview with the private investigators, or if it's offline, go back - it was cited a million times here. Speculation may have been otherwise, but according to the people who were actually there and the people who viewed the tapes, the guys were by the...
She was in her own apartment building, but CR got in a fight with some guys and then carried Lauren out of the building. He could have taken her to her apartment -- That's what the guys were trying to get him to do. Or he could have left her there in her building at least, instead of dragging...
For the most part I agree with you, Paul. In this case though, CR literally dragged Lauren home semi-conscious when she had no way to consent to what was happening and he took responsibility for her when others tried to help. As a result, IMO, he does hold some accountability (tbh I think there...
Also, at one point in 2011 or 2012 I went through pretty much every reported case of assault in Bloomington and there were a few that were very violent involving young girls walking home alone, including one where a girl was hit so hard her jaw was broken. That stuck in my mind for a long time...
I don't think akh's analysis would be complete without pointing to the actions of the last people seen with Lauren to explain why they drew the most attention as POI. Given all that has come out, I think there's a good chance that DM is responsible for her disappearance, but the person who...
@Ros Here's a quote from one of the articles - It says the Spierers' have been told there is no connection to DM - I suppose that could mean either he has been ruled out (easy enough if he was not in Bloomington at the time or had an alibi) -- or that there was no evidence (yet) linking him to...
Not sure how accurate that source and article are. It also says that Rossman and Rosenbaum were ruled out quickly, which we know is not the case.
I thought LE told the Spierers that DM was not involved? They also said they did not consider the crazy informant guy to be credible (Both were...
Sounds like the police have an idea of who this may be. But good to see that an anonymous phone call was made that led to this discovery - It happens! Someone's family will have answers.
