It sounds like it was almost certainly self inflicted. How though?! Bashing his head against the wall?!

to clarify, as per S*n link above, he’s since been discharged from hospital and returned to custody was alone at time of injuries Time in hospital is not counted for time held in custody (may be why there’s a seeming delay in charge update)

If the wife was particularly involved then I believe her arrest would be more significant, i.e suspicion of murder That’s not to say it’s not a possibility that’s what an eventual charge could be. JMO

could someone with better knowledge than me explain the purpose of a Command Facility and whether this would signify multiple sets of remains being considered/searched for?

That's correct. From MSM, his shift ended about one hour (8.30pm) before Sarah was last known to be alive (9.30pm). This is paywalled, but you can see the info - or at least that he'd been on duty that day - from the preview text in this Telegraph article.

It's quite possible that the wife is also a victim of this, albeit to a significantly lesser degree. Her arrest could be as simple as providing a false alibi (and again, we don't know under what circumstances, or what she knew - could WC have been abusive to her in some way throughout their...

Someone on Reddit has offered another theory about why SE might've willingly got into WC's car without much concern: if he's been in uniform and has told her that there's been an incident locally and suspect is still 'on the loose', and he will drop her home so that she isn't in danger. I think...

Using a hire car, and abducting someone in a hire car, on a major road in a busy part of London makes no sense to me. Even less sense when you consider that the suspected perp is LE. I'm absolutely baffled by it. EDIT: Just to clarify I don't mean I disbelieve it - more that I'd have thought a...

I think it's worth bearing in mind that the conditions of living through lockdown have made most people more anxious and more fearful, and perhaps less likely to think and behave as rationally or logically as they might under 'normal' circumstances. It's quite possible that Sarah's response -...

yes, it’s odd that we haven’t even had anything along the lines of ‘we are treating this as a murder case’ or something similar - not that that immediately implies a lesser charge, but usually by this point (fingerprint searches, tents, cars being towed) there’s been an indication of what the...

Totally JMO, but my strong feeling now is that the policeman is her ex (partner/husband) and the female who has been arrested on suspicion of aiding an offender is probably his mum. This is tragic.

Thanks for sharing that - I suppose 'lying to police to protect the offender' would cover providing a false alibi. The other examples would lend an implication that the person would know more about the crime itself.
