New Zealand - Tom Phillips, 34, & his 3 children, poss in remote bushland, Marokopa, Dec'21 (prev 11 Sep 2021 *dad charged*)

Police searching the area for the next three days. No specific intelligence to support why it's happening now and allegedly just part of the ongoing investigation. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/mar/12/tom-phillips-new-zealand-police-search-marokopa-three-children-ntwnfb

I think it's really unlikely they've got to Australia. There are passport checks between there and NZ. Maybe he could evade it somehow but smuggling the three children with him would be so difficult. Key is that he's been able to stay out there in that local area because of his family and the...

Ireland Marie Kilmartin, 35. Strangled. Left in Bog. Portlaoise. Mountmellick. December 1993

Really interesting case this. I am full of admiration for the diligent, even-handed way that her daughter has approached this. She seems convinced that she knows who did this and why, and i have no reason to doubt that. It must be so frustrating for her that this never seemed to be pursued by...

UK Eliza & Henrietta Huszti, sisters both 32, CCTV captures them near a river at 2am, Aberdeen, 7 Jan 2025 #2

And that's a very good point. CCTV isn't like the movies. It's set up to capture any potential criminal activity around a premises, it's not there to set up onto the street/path to film everyone going past. Absence of evidence isn't, evidence of absence etc.

UK Eliza & Henrietta Huszti, sisters both 32, CCTV captures them near a river at 2am, Aberdeen, 7 Jan 2025.

The nautical map of Aberdeen Harbour and area suggests a direct flow from the River Dee into Aberdeen Bay. However, having worked alongside the Maritime and Coastguard Agency a few years back on a similar case (different area of the UK) there are a lot of aspects to consider that influence drift...

I think that's correct. The police seem very assured about that belief. It's very sad, these women seem to have lived low-key, self-contained lives and yet find themselves the objects of a scrutiny that is very much at odds with that.

It's not heavily trafficked, largely rowing boats and motorised inflatables used by the coaches at the rowing club. I don’t know the depth but it doesn't support commercial traffic. Aberdeen Harbour is a significant fishing port for the North Sea and that could theoretically be a place someone...

UK Eliza & Henrietta Huszti, sisters both 32, CCTV captures them near a river at 2am, Aberdeen, 7 Jan 2025.

I think that's a normal procedural step and i'm not sure we should read too much into it. In the unlikely event (one that we'd all love to happen) that the sisters reappeared back safe at the property without any idea of the search that had been going on or that they'd been missed, you'd want...

Absolutely this. There isn't a proper footpath that goes along the river after the Boat Club either so they'd have had to return to that road anyway.

Presumed Located AK - Amanda Sears, 33, missing Anchorage since 25 Sept 2024

I think the post referred to is the Meme shared as her second-to-last post. You're right, on her last post someone (related but not certain on specific relationship) has added a screenshot from the Searching Alaska's Missing FB page with some interesting potential sightings but I can't find that...

That new location changes things quite a bit although going via the road makes most sense for both locations. There aren't any other options that make sense, you'd have to detour east. If she was spotted at Twyn Y Glog then that's much more open land with farms and buildings around.

Found Deceased UK - Joanne Jones, 49, Pontypridd Wales, 21 October 2024

Do we know that she had/has her dog with her? I can't see a dog in any of the photos from that day or that she's holding or carrying a lead. Difficult to tell on the boots. They're certainly not robust hiking footwear but they may be enough for the trails and the roads she was on. Would be...

Latest update from South Wales Police Rhonnda Cynon Taf. New dashcam images with locations and times. Obviously everyone walks differently at different paces, have differing fitness levels etc and we don't know a precise route but the timings appear consistent with what you might expect it would...

Found Deceased UK - Joanne Jones, 49, Pontypridd Wales, 21 October 2024

South Wales Police/Rhondda Cynon Taf just updated their Facebook page. Essentially, no substantive updates and no sightings after she was spotted in Graigwen Road. Have opened up searching to the public provided they don't go out alone, tell someone where they're going etc etc. State they are...

Found Deceased Jay Slater, 19, missing on holiday in Tenerife, 17 June 2024

I agree with this totally hence calling it a wild card option that comes with him not being found yet in the more likely areas. Far more likely though that he descended and carried on descending. If he was thirsty and hadn't passed any water then there is little incentive to retrace your steps...

Found Deceased Jay Slater, 19, missing on holiday in Tenerife, 17 June 2024

Yes, you're absolutely spot-on with those three and the descriptions. From where he was seen and where he was pinged the Barranco de Masca is least likely as it would have required him turning back. Wild-card is if he turned back from his last known spot when it became clear the path was...

Found Deceased Jay Slater, 19, missing on holiday in Tenerife, 17 June 2024

That really varies on resources and the area of the search. Most elements of search-and-rescue involve a volunteer element and the degree to which your non-volunteer staff can be dedicated. It's not practical to have a large group of full-time sitting around waiting for an incident and although...
