Regarding BSL's writings, my daughter, a psychology major, told me that psychopaths often write a manifesto. I haven't finished reading all of the journal as of yet, so I don't know if the writings sound like one. But it's interesting none the less. He certainly fits the definition of a psycho! MOO
@ihavenoname, I also heard many of those same rumblings around Lafayette concerning the donations and how they were being used. This is my opinion only. I donated a nice amount two different times to help find Mickey and also to help the family in any way possible. So, even if the money was used...
My daughter and I also attended the memorial but only stayed until the first band finished playing. I still struggle with Mickey's death. So I wasn't sure that I was ready to attend but also knew that later I would regret not going if I didn't. I'm now so glad that I went. We got to see and hug...
@reedus I agree with you about the statement being the wording of the DA. Why would BSL say MS was enticed, persuaded or forced to get in his truck? Pretty sure BSL knows how that happened. Pretty sure we all know. The correct word is forced! I can't think too much about it. Still pains me.
Just found this. Mickey's Public Celebration. http://www.theadvertiser.com/article/20120901/NEWS01/120901019/Community-Celebration-Honor-Mickey-Shunick-planned
@reedus23 Beautifully written. I have lived in Cajun Country since the age of 6 and never have I been so proud to call it home. The community did come together like I have never witnessed before. It brings to mind the Candlelight Vigil for Mickey. So many people gathered together for one...
@someguy Thanks for sharing your photos with us. Seeing them makes me so sad. What happened to this young man? What was BSL struggling with from a young age? How can others be identified and helped before it's too late? I have so many questions and zero answers. So sorry your family is having to...
I do believe BSL has many more victims. Sadly, I wonder if all were investigated properly. Not to put blame on LE, I understand they are overwhelmed, but I tend to believe that Mickey's case was an exception. And I feel like that was due to all the coverage of the case, both locally and...
K.jill, I agree with you concerning BSL not wanting to be recognized as any kind of sexual predator. However, being called a murderer doesn't seem to bother him. I can't seem to comprehend any of it.
Thanks for the welcome Foxfire. I have been very impressed with all of your posts. And you are so right. Mickey has brought the community together and most definitely made it safer. I only wish things had turned out differently of course. I know we all do.
My first time posting. I found this site at the beginning when Mickey went missing. I was trying to stay informed and MSM wasn't always reporting any info. I found WS somehow and can't stay away. My daughter is friends with Charlie. They attended ULL together and worked on a study which they...
