1) Detective Linda Arndt January 8 1997 report states "...John Andrew and Melinda, had taken the family's private plane from Atlanta and had flown to Minneapolis..."(See Image Private_Plane_1)
2) In the Bonita Papers, it states "...At 8:30 a.m. on the morning of December 26, unaware of the tragedy in Boulder, Melinda, John Andrew and Stewart Long had taken a private jet from Atlanta to Minneapolis in anticipation of meeting the rest of the Ramsey family to continue on to Charlevoix for the family holiday..."(See Image Private_Plane_2)
Here is a discussion of the authenticity of the Bonita Papers.
Atlanta is roughly 907 miles from Minneapolis. A twin turbo prop can cover the distance in approximately 2.5 hours or jet(turbo fan) can cover the distance in 1.5 to 2 hrs.
Acandyrose states the "...Together they boarded a flight to Minneapolis at 8:36 A.M. local time..." Bonita Papers states "...At 8:30 a.m..."
Using a turbo prop and leaving at Atlanta local time(Eastern Time Zone) of between 8:30 a.m. and 8:35 a.m., the flight would arrive 2.5 hours later in Minneapolis between 10:00 a.m. and 10:05 a.m. (Central Time Zone); it would be 9:00 a.m. to 9:05 a.m. in Boulder, Colorado which is in Mountain Time Zone. That 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. coincidentally matches the time that the writer of the ransom letter would call the Ramseys: "...call you between 8 and 10am..." (See Image Time_of_communication).
Using a jet and leaving at Atlanta local time (Eastern Time Zone) of between 8:30 a.m. and 8:35 a.m., the flight would arrive 1.5 to 2 hrs later in Minneapolis between 9:00 a.m. to 9:35 a.m. (Central Time Zone); it would be between 8:00 a.m. and 8:35 a.m. in Boulder Colorado which is in Mountain Time Zone. Again, possible coincidence with the time the writer(s) of the "ransom" letter said contact would be made.
If a private aircraft was in use, I would like to know what was the origin(airport) and destination(airport). Who was the pilot and what was the aircraft type? And who owned the aircraft? These questions may have been answered in the Grand Jury testimonies in which I believe had not been released.
