perhaps slapping a piece of henkel tape on a live piglet and throwing it into a a hot trunk then triple bagging it before tossing it into a low lying area for six months might re create a close comparison, but i highly doubt anyone could kill a little piglet.. ...MOO

I highly agree. It would be like beating a dead horse, IMO.

Was George ever asked about the Henkel duct tape? When he purchased it? Where it was kept? If he noticed a roll missing? How many rolls they owned? I read his statements but do not recall... Anyone?

IIRC: He was asked where he bought duct tape and he was asked where he kept it. He never did acknowledge the henkel logo tape though. There are questions about this in his deposition, just not sure which one.

George did everything he could to distance himself from that tape. I think the thought of him having ever touched it horrified him.

He may not have answered because he did not purchase the tape, or just does not remember purchasing the tape. Regardless, the tape shows up on the can and on the posters of Caylee from the KFN tent. The A's always brought their own supplies with them reportedly paid for by the Foundation money. jmo

Did George comment on the vent cap being missing as a new development? Had it been missing for awhile? Or was he silent on the issue?

TIA.

Or used their own that they then billed the foundation for?

I re-read his whole depo Sunday.:bang:

IIRC, the vent cap had been missing for quite a while. GA loved that old gas can. Kinda one of those 'they just don't make 'em like these anymore' type deals.

I'm searching back through now to see exactly where he referenced it.

JA: And if you had used this can to obtain gas, you would have put a piece of duct tape over the vent; correct?

GA: Yeah. Because I like that gas can. It is sort of a part of me. It's 20 years old.

GA (being the stickler he is ;) ) stresses on numerous occassions throughout the depo about how he has always been careful to duct tape the vent because he doesn't want the odor/fumes to escape in his car. It leaves ya with the impression that the vent had been missing for quite a long time.

Okay, I reviewed as much I can stand for today.

Harmony, sorry I missed your question before I reviewed GA's depo...AGAIN.

I did take a quick look just now at the keyword index - the word Henkel is never referenced, however tape is cited 54 times throughout the 377 pgs..

Seems like I recall some generic questions early in the depo and I know there was talk about it during his testimony in re. the command center. I'm gonna give my brain some GA relief tonight, but I will look again tomorrow. :)

IIRC, there may have been more specific 'Henkel speak' in some of his statements with LE. not positive about that, but want to say so.:waitasec:

Ok, seriously, how many of us pay attention to duct tape?

I just did a walk through of my house, one roll in the laundry room (grey), one roll in the kids bathroom (I don't even want to know why, grey again), 3 rolls in DD#3's room (blue, gold, and green, I think for her drill rifles), 4 in the garage (must ask DH why so many), and one each in every vehicles trunk (emergency repairs?), none of which at first glance have any kind of logo on them.

But, I can honestly say, I don't have a clue where any of it came from...I remember buying a roll here or there, especially at the beginning of hurricane seasons, but this many? I asked DH, he said "I dunno know", we just have it...

I can believe that GA had no idea where it came from, or that it was significant by brand, that is just something you don't pay attention (or at least I don't).

What is significant is that his gas can tape, matches what was wrapped around Caylee.

That answer doesn't make any sense. IMO This is split between two pages. I wonder if a line is missing.

Click the link. At the top type in 209. Begin reading at line 23. Continue reading lines 24 and 25. The next page is 210. Read lines 1 and 2.

That is where I pulled the quote.

Every page has 25 lines. As all of the other pages, both of those two pages begin with line 1, and end with line 25. They do that so that you can tell that there are no lines missing.

Okay I did that. I had mentioned this earlier in the thread that this response does not make sense to me. Does it make sense to you? would you answer a question in that way?

When I said it looks like there is a line missing, I am suspicious that the transcriptionist made a mistake.

RBBM It doesn't matter whether or not it makes sense or how we would answer. It matters what George said and how George answered.

The transcriptionist made a mistake? ? ?
I wonder how many times someone has tried to claim that one.
I wonder how many times that one has worked.

Yeah, that doesn't sound desperate, not at all. Hey, maybe George was possessed or speaking in tongues during that interview! And any other time he didn't make sense or said something incriminating or implicating. Eureka! IMO!

Luckily, if the transcriptionist makes a mistake, you get to submit a correction sheet, which becomes part of the deposition transcript. Most likely there will also have been an audio recording.

IMO there is no mistake in the transcript. George is responding to the questions asked; the answers make no sense because he is not being truthful. This happens a lot when people don't tell the truth.

BBM: Kinda/sorta like when people answer a question with a question. :banghead:. The A clan does this all the time. It's one of the first clues I picked up when listening to these depos. Drives me crazy just reading the transcripts. If GA and CA would answer any question without elaboration or a question, these depos would be half the size they currently are.

I believe they say it is an indication that you are about to tell a lie, i.e. "what would this be for?". Answer: "What would this be for?" Gives you time to fabricate an answer because you don't want to give the truthful one.

FYI...

I was rereading transcripts of Tony's interviews. He actually held/carried the gas cans on June 23rd. He is not asked about the duct tape at the time because LE did not know about it yet.

pg 29 - he states he screws the cap on one gas can and hands her the other one.

I wonder if he was ever asked about it again...
