I am not disputing the need for KC to have public funds for a DP trial-I am wondering where $163,500.00 went.
That aside, the State's Attorney is an advocate for the people and the laws of the people. As elected officials, it is the law and public opinion that dictate whether they seek the death penalty-it is not something to assign blame to, unless you wanna blame the people of Florida themselves.

ETA-Fortunately, John Morgan will want to know where that additional money went, in due time.

LP claimed that Cindy took aprox. 40K out of the $200,000.00 to reimburse herself for the small fortune that Casey had stolen from her over the years. You just can't make this stuff up! I laughed till I cried when I heard that. Her daughter needs the money to defend herself from a murder charge and Cindy was wanting to get reimbursement for stolen money. Where are her priorities? I still stand by what I have maintained all along , the concern for Casey is feigned. Deep down she hates her for taking the one true love away from her, Caylee.

So If a person kills someone in FL, then sells pictures to media for a bundle.Blow said money on whatever they want and pay some to their lawyers.Once your broke ANYONE? Can not only have a free attorney but these said free attorneys arent free if the have already spent 22,00 on just 1 of them for travel exp?You , me anyone else be allowed to have all out of state experts ,Lawyers ect.Or would you have to shop locally for them?I wonder if the expenses they did ok are going to cost taxpayers more money ,then paying locals.

The thought that taxpayers are housing this monster with three meals a day is ENOUGH to make one sick. The judge, however, is playing by the rules. I believe when this trial starts, he will have had all his i's dotted and his t's crossed. Then there will be NO excuses for ms. anthony. I also believe when this trial starts, the judge will let all the players know whose courtroom it is. The facts will always remain the facts.

He's not going to be the trial judge is he?

The pros to list just a few....
The inability to use "inability to pay for due process costs" as grounds for an appeal.
The requirement by the State of FL. to account for all moneys paid from this point forward (with the exception of attorney fees).
The increased scrutiny over KC's financial status and the reduced chance that more media deals will be negotiated.

When JB testified that there were no media deals in the works......likely he was telling the truth (though not the whole truth) because the media deal was brokered in 2008 and the hearing on her funding was in March 2009.

Just because KC was found indigent for costs does not mean that there will not be further investigation into JB's role in the ABC deal.

I hope you are correct! What is your reasoning?

I totally agree, SHE HATES KC but she will not say it in public IMO.I think she would PULL the switch herself if she could have Caylee back in a flat azz sec,

Because KC being found indigent is a separate issue from any alleged impropriety by JB. The issue was not further evaluated in court Thursday because it was not part of the scheduled hearing. With this new info any number of individuals can file a complaint against JB with the FL Bar for investigation, but it would not have been addressed in that hearing.

It just seems to me that there should be tighter stipulations regarding being "indigent". She shouldn't be able to have a team located all around the country traveling to and fro as they please. Same with experts. She can't afford it? She should have to take what she can get. If they come back later and say they want to appeal because she wasn't allowed to use these uber-expensive lawyers and experts? Ummm, you didn't have the MONEY for them.

Well, this answers one of my questions:



I don't see how there's any doubt that JB brokering a deal for $200k benefited him and is certainly a conflict of interest. As we discussed way back when, he could very well be dragging this on for profit. We've all felt he doesn't have his clients best interest in mind and now knowing he shoveled in all this money . . . . well, DUH!

After reading Mr. Hornsby's response, it seems to me JB should be in a whole heap of trouble!

Are you against the fair trial system? Why should she not have the same rights the state has? Dr Vass is from out of state, Dr Haskell is from out of state, Dr Brown is from out of state, FBI Quantico is from out of state. Her Lawyers are paying their own expenses. IMO

I agree what about everyone else who gets a public defender,I would be screaming I didnt get HIGH priced lawyers why KC did.I understand she needs a dp lawyer but they must have at least 1 in FL. I would also file a complaint with the bar over Baez's perjury over his brokering the deal with ABC. I would also be complaining the elected official (State's Attorney) over this. I would let them know that I would be holding them accountable at the next election. I would also point out that the Anthony's have been thumbing their noses over this, the taking money for looking for Caylee when they apparently knew Caylee was dead. I would demand an investigation into their foundation. And their tampering with evidence (the car, clothes, hair brush).

Defendents are innocent until proven guilty, that is constitution I believe. So the defendent can sell all the pics they want. You can write your state all you want, its not going to change.

The state bar is prolly getting sick of investigating Jb. If the Judge said the disclosure was good enough, that is prolly good enough for the bar.

They did not know Caylee was dead and no one can prove that,They did not tamper with evidence either. That is all just speculation.

No one is stopping anyone from writing to their congressman and asking him to sign something to give up our rights. Yes thats right, Kc's rights are all of our rights. IMO

She has a death penalty Lawyer in Florida. His name is CM. Al is working pro bono. There are no high priced Lawyers. They are all working pro bono. Others in jail are welcome to use pro bono Lawyers all they want. I think some of the majority believe that Kc is getting a special deal here. If that is true, it is because we as joe q public are enabling it. At least I know I am. IMO

Well, personally, I think it's all BS!!! As a Florida taxpayer myself.. it disgusts me to no end. So she won't be able to file an appeal based on her finances and inability to pay... there will be many, many other appeals, don't worry.

I would have preferred JS demand she exhaust any and all means whatsoever, to get every penny she could BEFORE going to plan B, the easier way out. I, too, would like to see what was disclosed to JS about their finances. This whole circus just makes me SICK, SICK, SICK.

I haven't read through all the posts, but the thing that really pixxes me off about this is that she has had very high powered attorney's on her case from the get go, and they keep signing on to defend her PRO-BONO. And now she gets declared indigent. Most people accused of a crime are not afforded the same. Most people who can't afford representation get appointed a public defender. I'm not saying that public defenders aren't capable of good representation, of course they are! But Casey has had some of the best (and some of the most famous) professionals working on her team! I'm not just talking about her attorney's - I'm talking about all the scientists and forensic specialist, etc! And now....she had been declared indigent. Joe Blow criminal would NOT have been afforded the same. I don't have a problem with someone needing funding for their defense, but because Casey has retained some of the best attorney's in the country and has had them now for 2 years - and now claims indengent - the whole thing just rubs me the wrong way. I have to respect JS's ruling, but my gosh I think Florida residents should be privy to how the money was spent in the past before she was declared indigent.

ETA - I also have to add that I wonder if she had declared indigent from the very beginning if all these high flutten attorneys would have joined her team. I dont' think some of them would have signed on! Just saying! My opinion!

If RC is to be believed then GA knew in November a month before Caylee was found that she was dead. If it can be proven that DC was in the woods because the A's sent him there, that means they also knew she was dead.

Well said. If they are claiming she is indigent now then they knew from day one that she was. The girl has not worked in years. it does not take 2 years to figure out someone does not have any money. They knew from the get go what her financial status was. According to jb "it's unethical to discuss any deals at this point in the case"...that says to me he knew she had no money coming in and the photos that she was paid for was a bonus but not expected.
