Good question. We don't know that they didn't find exactly what they were looking for.

IMO, if they did find something, I don't think they would admit it. I wish there was a "Law and Order" moment....LE waiting by their car when they left the woods that day. LOL

I'm more or less gonna give them a pass on going down there because I know I would have had to go myself. But as to "searching" all afternoon? I don't see that.

I wonder if they thought by finding something they could collect the reward?

I agree. If they knew Haleigh was in that area, the last thing they would want to do is find Haleigh themselves. If they knew the best thing is to let someone else do the finding.

The searching all afternoon, well who knows what that means with this bunch, they seem to have trouble with the concept of time (TN drives 12 miles in 5 minutes....sure)

I'm wondering if what they were looking for could have been the thing that was missing from the trailer "that was always supposed to be there for Haleigh?" Just a possibility. More than likely not probable.

Still, GGMAS volunteered the story of TN & herself searching first. (See Blue by me) "But of course we didn't find anything." Doe she just feel entitled and obligated to run to wherever her granddaughter is rumored to have been found - to prove to herself that Haleigh's still alive?

SYKES: Well, evidently, they had some tip. Somebody called them. And they were down there searching. And I went down there early that morning and didn`t -- you know, they wouldn`t tell me anything. HOLLARS: I was the one that called you and told you that.

SYKES: Yes, she did. Ms. Hollars called me and told me -- she certainly did -- that she had called down here and told them what Tommy had told her. And Teresa and I went and -- over to that area and walked around all afternoon and looked in the woods over there. But of course, we didn`t find anything."

I also bolded in green some curious back & forth up there between Hollars & Sykes.

I gotta say, that green stuff looks just a little bit like Sykes helping Hollars put it out there one more time that Hollars was the tipster and should get that reward. I mean, Sykes brought it up (that she got a heads up on the search). Maybe Hollars asked her to get that in there. Then, Sykes rambled, and Hollars reminded Sykes she wanted credit for giving Sykes the "tip".

These ladies are certainly friendly. I might even suggest that Flo & Annette got even friendlier when Misty went to stay with Hollars for a bit. I can see GGMS checking in on Misty during her Tennessee holiday, and chatting cordially with Flo...

If you take Gma Flo out of getting GGma Sykes to admit they talked, I don't think we would have GGma Sykes admitting that her and TN were searching the day before. IMO GGma Sykes was on NG where she gets a "friendly" reception and was not expecting to be "confronted."

Now, after learning that Misty told GMHollars to contact the Cummings, I had to look at this transcript one more time. A few more things stood out to me.

Now look at GMSykes statement BEFORE Hollars tell that she was the one that called GMS. GMSykes plays as if she doesn't know why police are searching that area (she says evidently LE had a tip). GMS says "SOMEBODY must've called them" (she acts as if she didn't know WHO called them). Then she conveniently fast forward-to the morning LE was down there searching and they wouldn't tell her anything. She leaves out the part that her and Teresa went down there. She claims that she knew they were looking for something pertaining to Haleigh but didn't know what it was.(if you look at her statement made later she acknowledges they are looking for a dead Haleigh.)

Then look at the statement GMS made AFTER Hollars tell that she was the one that called GMS. GMS admits to that and claims that GMHollars told her that SHE called down there and told them (I'm assuming LE) what TOMMY had told her (Tommy supposedly told her that Haleigh was killed and thrown in the river by the dock). In her statement BEFORE, GMS acted as if she didn't know who called LE. She then claims that her and Teresa went to that area and walked around all afternoon. Earlier in that same show, GMSykes said "you hear so much, you don't know what to believe". Then why did they take the news from GMHollars so seriously? Even when GMHollars was telling some of those gruesome stories on this show, GMS was shaking her head "no"-she wasn't believing any of it. So why did she believe Haleigh was down in that area? I mean, they actually went down there. IMO, there was some truth to that information Misty wanted them to have because GMS and Teresa felt this was credible enough for them to go down there......and it turned out to be the "crime scene". Imagine that.

Now if you throw in the fact that Misty WANTED this information given to the Cummings. It seems clear to me that Misty sent this message for a reason and the Cummings knew it. Why was it just TN and GMS on their search? If they were so concerned about this being the actual area, if they were going to go down there, why not round up your family, at least? The more the better, right? They can accompany them to drop off laundry-why not to help look for Haleigh? No, it was just TN and GMS. Can you imagine GMSykes out searching the woods all day? Those TWO have been in my "spotlight" from day one. Both of them.

The Cummings were told that Haleigh was dumped in that river. Why search the woods? I know some people don't see anything wrong with them going down there, but if they were told Haleigh was thrown in that river, would could they possibly do to find her in the water? Now if they showed up with their own team of people that was equipped to search that river...I would understand them being there. But they didn't. TN and GMS SEARCHED THE WOODS. I can even understand if they just went down there, stood on the dock, and said a prayer-talked to God. No, they spent ALL AFTERNOON SEARCHING THE WOODS. Why? What were they expecting to find in the woods if they were told Haleigh was thrown in the river? It doesn't make sense.

GMSykes say's "But of course, we didn't find anything". And I hope and pray they didn't find anything, and whatever it was that they were looking for, LE found it instead. LE searched the woods around the dock too..they didn't just search the river. That search turned out to be the "crime scene" and it turned this investigation into a HOMOCIDE with MULTIPLE persons of interests.

IMO, GMS and TN KNEW that area was significant. And how would they know that if they were totally in the dark about what happened to Haleigh?

I have my own "persons of interest" and TN and GMS are definitely on that list. JMO though

IMO, GMSykes was taken by surprise, I don't think she expected GMHollars to say that. But after it was said, IMO, GMSykes had no other choice but to admit it. GMHollars was too matter-of-fact when she said that and I think, had GMSykes denied it, there would have been a battle of the words between them two. GMSykes was not prepared for that. I wonder if GMSykes offered up that information about her and TN going down there because GMHollars knew they did? I mean, was that GMSykes way of beating GMHollars to the punch? to seem more honest? I think she was afraid that GMHollars would tell that part....after being confronted like that, she wasn't sure what GMHollars was going to say next.

It seems GMSykes offers information when she is put in a tough spot. Kinda like when we heard Misty wasn't home that night and GMSykes came out with the "YES she was...I went by there". And we were all like "HUH". Same thing. She was put in a tough spot then, so she offered up information that she was the one that went by there.

Since I've been suspicious of both TN and GGS all along, now I'm wondering
if Misty asked GH to tell GS to go to that "crime scene" just to back up the false tips given by herself and Tommy.

Them going there has made everybody think- Oh, that shows they know Haleigh
was put there. Well, maybe not. Maybe those two know exactly where Haleigh
is buried. I, for one, never believed that stupid story of GMS delivering laundry
to the mh and seeing the kids eating dinner on the porch that cold night. She and TN have been covering up something all along.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think it's possible they just went there to mislead LE
further into believing the lie that Haleigh was thrown into the water at that
dock.

My first clue was looking at the cops standing only knee deep in the water
where they were searching. If a body wrapped in yellow rope had been thrown in there couldn't it have been easily seen from the dock?

I hope I'm wrong and that LE does find evidence, but somehow have my doubts.

If they were successful in finding something there such as an object etc., then that evidence is gone for good IMO. That area must have something to do with the crimescene for GGMS and TN to immediately react to Misty's information. Misty was communicating to them to get there first IMO.

You made me laugh when I read this. I can see Misty thinking "WoW, I know how I can get a message to GGMS and TN about the search scheduled by LE, I'll just tell Grannie and ask her to call them. She'll do it. Grannie will do anything I ask her too.

Did Flo say in general that TN & AS go to the boat dock per Misty or was the boat dock explained in detail by Misty to Flo & in return Flo was able to tell them exactly where to go? If not how would they know where to go!

Given the way LE has been with this case, very tight lipped, I cannot imagine them telling MC and/or ToC that they would be searching the Shell Harbour area. I still think they wanted that information to get out to some people.

I've been trying to give them a pass for going down there, but this all afternoon search business is getting more and more suspicious.

Just throwing this out there - first, these aren't ordinary people and besides, a couple years ago, a friend's daughter went missing. Texas Eq & LE planned on searching a few sites - that they shared with the mother. Don't you know, that the mother and a couple friends went and searched. That ended Tim Miller and LE's communication with the general public and with this family. They should have known better. Daughter still missing. People don't always control their instincts.

And IIRC she even told Cobra she had wandered around out there for four hours all by her lonesome before she ever took him out there......JMO

IMHO..Honest to goodness I think she was hoping to drag him out there and the man who lived in that trailer would shoot him for trespassing on his property..I don't believe she was ever out there searching and wandering around for four hours by herself like she claims she was..... IIRC when she called him she had high tailed it out of those woods and made her way back to the road...JMO
