I know this has been said....but re watching the hearing for the fourth time, Baez not happy re May 6th hearing!! Not happy Jan at all.

Cracked me up when JP told him to call JAC THIS AFTERNOON to make arrangements. First thing I thought when he was doing his interview with truTv, was 'you better hurry the heck up and get on that phone...STAT!' lol

Well color me surprised. That means he has to actually conduct trial work and not hangout at on a mustache's yaught.

I am eager to see how JB et al will now manage to conduct themselves and manage this caseload because Judge Perry means business. :gavel: He made it very clear today! I am also now going to be eager to see what Judge Perry will do about the defenses continuing posturing and antics. The continued disrespect of his Honor Judge Strickland. It was already rumored that the fla. bar was looking into some things re: JB!

So, who wants to wager, will it be the Fla. Bar or Judge Perry who smacks them for the little response game they played today .............

Hey Beach and LittleBitty, what I thought was running through his head was...

"sheet, I actually have to do some work?? and what, within the next week, are you serious Judge?"

Bugger me!!

Aha, this is what they meant in Lawyer school about working on a Capital case, okay, I geddit now.

Baez to whom it may concern,

"Hey I have done shed loads of hours, I just didn't keep track of them, but you know....$89 large in the bank is good stuff. Can I go home now?"

No Mr Baez, how about you represent your client to the best of your ability.

Oh, and well done on filing a notice of unavailability for the first time in 20 mths, something else to keep track of those nasty billable hours.
{unusual}pesky clients and accounting!

On WFTV's part 2 of the hearing around the 19.22 mark, JB leans over to LDB and is speaking with her as JP is speaking. RUde number one, but in the court's decorum policies, isn't it a no-no to address opposing counsel without permission?

I just watched it all again on wftv with links listed thanks to Angel on Todays News - No discussion. Came in clearly with no trouble at all.

Thanks ~ Would that be ALSO for the CourtTV interviews that everyone did after the court hearing today?
Thanks Again ~

It would also behoove the court that in future hearings to have Ms. Lyon(s) attend via Skype. That way they can assure proper courtroom decorum on her end. C'mon, you know she was grading papers or on a coffee break when his honor called upon her and she was not available immediately.

The WFTV video link of G, C and B after the hearing; C was told she looked happy when the judge wanted to sequester the jury and asked if she was and she goes that's a no brainer! LOL what does that say about JB? She's right it IS a no brainer.

I finally caught up on the hearing and the posts. I wish I could have watched live!! Jane Velez Mitchell's crew said the defense is happy with this new Judge. I would say that too after today. Can't cry in front of the cameras!

Watching Cindy and George smile and giggle really makes my skin crawl. Casey, their flesh and blood hurt that little girl, and now she's the victim? Please, she is playing them. :croc:

I am just happy that she knows exactly where she will be a year from now. Sitting and waiting for her doomsday!

While the legalities involved are fairly straightforward, it's always interesting to mentally profile the interaction of the players:

Casey seemed almost totally remote from those around her. Almost a catatonic state (overstated, I know), but sort of unusual imho.

The new defense lawyer also seemed somewhat removed from CA and JB - there physically, but very little interaction. Interesting. . .

Cindy, as I'm sure has been mentioned, mouthed "I love you," to Casey-- but I don't know whether cameras caught any return emotion, acknowledgement from Casey. As we know in the recent past, KC totally ignores them in court.

the high school dropout/air head demographic

LOL kbl!

But seriously, the defense's comment made me :waitasec:... WHAT demographic might be excluded by sequestration? Responsible folks with jobs and families and commitments? Seems that's the type the defense would WANT to X out. Anyone have some insight here?

id think they'd want to exclude anyone with a soul.

also, they've accused half the state of florida of either killing caylee or moving her body, so that's gonna be a long selection process!

I need to look into desirable DP juror demographics. Off the top of my head......the first group that would stand out as being less likely to be seated on a sequestered jury would be professionals whose livelihood would be placed in jeopardy if they were out of work 2 months or more. Then...let's add in single parents that don't have someone that can watch their children for an extended period of time. Older folks would be less swayed by new forensics but may not be up to a 2 month hotel stay without help from their family members.

This trial will be taking place over summer when kids are out of school requiring child care to be established not only for after hours when another parent is home but daytime when they may not be in camp and rely on a mom there to watch them.

So while I don't know the ideal juror in this scenario...those listed above would present additional issues to overcome more than a regular juror sitting 9-5.

It's going to be interesting to see what Cindy blames next when Casey is found guilty of murdering Caylee.

She can't blame it on the Judge, she can't blame it on the COV.

We'll see an abrupt end to Cindy's smiling and giggling. ;)

Wow, SA says 4 weeks to present their case!

to be serious for a minute......

i seriously doubt it will only take 4 or 5 weeks. at best that's a guess of how many witnesss they have right now. even if it doesnt change they arent factoring in how long the defense cross examinations will take. so id' sa it will take at least double that estimate.
