excerpts:

"Danielle Tavernier, spokeswoman for the Orange-Osceola State Attorney's Office, said the calls will not be released immediately.

"It will not be today," Tavernier said in an e-mail response. "As in the past records become public based on chronological order. At current, the next release of documents will be from supplemental discovery given to the defense on about [July 21].""

Thanks so much for this Nums24!

I'm sure you've read this pdf., and will agree with me. HHJP points out several places in Baez's statements where he flat out lied about what happened during the phone calls.

Mr. Baez stated in his motion that he had no idea the calls were being recorded, and his secretary must have accepted the calls before forwarding them on to Baez. HHJP specifically says the defense voice was heard on the tape immediately after pressing "1" to accept the call, and it is clear it was he who heard the recorded warning and accepted the call.

OH OH Baez, I think you got caught big time with a lot more than your hand in the cookie jar. :croc:

I don't get it, maybe JB is better suited towards being a politician than an attorney. It is almost as if he doesn't expect anyone to check his BS and spin.

While that's the role of the Defense .... you need to do it selectively where there are an absence of facts and data that will quickly bite you back and further erode credibility. Don't bluff on something so easily and quickly debunked.

JB needs to check his equivalent of www.attorneyfactcheck.com

I hope Judge Perry has initiated something to stop JB's madness!

I guess he gambles that nothing will be done about it anyway?
He just says he couldn't remember and that he did not have a copy of the audio tapes.
I think the Prosecutors would have to file a specific Motion asking for sanctions because of the untruths in JB's Motions, and they probably don't care enough to do that.

I truly hope he is called out on this to the bar. We need this trial to be fair and with the lack of lawyering skills and downright lies of one of the lead attorneys on the defense I do not want to see a verdict overturned because of this. IMO

It's mind blowing to me how JB lies and claims "lapse of memory". If he's THAT forgetful - he has no business being an attorney. JMO!

I LOVED Perry's zinger to Baez on page 2 of this order. Perry said something like "the Court is confident that defense counsel is by now familiar with Florida's Public Records Act...see previous order denying motion to seal jail visitation logs".

Oh, SNAP!!!!!!

Translation: stop this nonsense, Mr. Bahyez!

What bothers me is that nobody has called him out on taking illegal calls before. IMO, it's obvious he's done this at other times or he wouldn't have been worried at all. I wonder if the actual call he was thinking of did manage to skirt the process. :waitasec:

...and, of course, they don't say when THAT will be...lol.

I couldn't understand why he even referenced this illegal activity.

I like the part where it says "Emphasis added" LOL. That part killed me. ZING!

And remember he had the gall to stand up in court and say that he didn't want Ms. Drane Burdick to be arrested for listening to the tape! :banghead:

Here's an article;

Anthony Attorney's Call With Inmate To Be Released
Judge Denies Motion To Block Release Of Call

POSTED: Monday, August 2, 2010

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Judge Belvin Perry signed an order Monday morning allowing a recorded phone call between Casey Anthony's defense attorney Jose Baez and an inmate to be made public.

Anthony's defense had asked the judge to grant a motion to keep the call private....

I LOVED your Quote above this one re: The court is confident Mr. Baez is now familiar........Huge Smackdown!

Is it just me? When you are reading an order from Judge Perry - do you read it with his voice, pronunciations, and annunciations in your head? lol

I guess he gambles that nothing will be done about it anyway?

I think personally, in law, that motions are notoriously filled with "untruths". I know we think it should be otherwise, but my experience with "motions" tells me otherwise. What gets me, this is Baez's personal motion when you look and think about it. I don't remember how the motion reads, but it usually states it's the defendant's motion...Casey brings it before the court. Can someone refresh my memory, was it "technically" her motion?

I like the part where it says "Emphasis added" LOL. That part killed me. ZING!
Ya know, his responses are simple and eloquent. One can easily follow and understand them. But, he does have a way of making a point (did ya get it JB?)...and does it well.

HHJP is not very subtly putting JB in his place and putting him on notice. Actually the simple fact that he made this ruling without a hearing, and then added that less than gentle slap to the defense clearly communicates his displeasure to all. He looked into the matter, he was not pleased with what he found. And the attorneys involved are hereby put on notice that they should not be wasting the judges time on matters that they should very clearly already be familiar with. Most typical sane lawyers would be shaking in their shoes seeing such a ruling come down, fearful that they had compromised their standing before the court and as a result damaged their clients case through their actions. Sadly JB is not a typical sane lawyer. The rather clear message in the ruling will be completely lost on him.Just as all the previous messages have been.

Also I know that the spokesperson for the Orange county SA said it would be some time before we see these tapes in a document dump. But that is them coming from the SA's office. Id there any chance we would see them released sooner via a direct foi request from the prison? It after all is their public records.
