Silly question, I know, but did the judge in Ronalds case have any choice words for him? Or, was it more, sorry I have to sentence you to prison?

Neither, it appears.

Circuit Judge Terry LaRue didn't comment on the case other than to impose sentences of 15 years apiece on two counts and three years on a third count to run concurrently. Two cases were dropped by prosecutors.

Probably. But what can anyone do? Misty if she doesn't know the truth needed to convince LE of that in some way. She has to admit to not being there, or leaving the kids alone, or passing out. She had to retract her lies.

If LE didn't believe anything she said about Ronald, then she should have been doing interviews, invited the national media in and told them her story. She had to call the FBI in and make enough noise so that if anything is wrong within PC the truth was told. The fact that she did not, tells me whatever happened she was a part of.

She opened the door, all 5 of them, for this type of swift justice without a trial or every being charged with Haleigh's death. They had to know they were being watched. Every time they took a breath LE was on top of them.

I'm not sure what I feel right now. I want answers. Will time in jail for all of them get those answers? No I doubt it. I fear this is the end of the Haleigh Story.

I agree completely Grandma. All Misty had to do, IMO, is tell what she knows. Clear up the different stories shehas told. I feel for her in that she did have a rough upbringing, and I do feel that she was a (willing) victim of the Cummings family; but we can't care more about her plight that she does. Evidently she wasn't willing to go up against the other family, eventhough it means doing 25 years, and more, in prison. The reality of 25 yrs in prison, no other life whatsoever, hasn't set in for her yet. It may take a few years. So bad that justice for Haleigh may never come, because the truth about what happen to her still isn't known. MOO

How did we find out Misty failed her LDT's?
How can we find out if Ron, Tommy and whomever else took them failed or passed them?

Not a silly question at all! The way I recall and I may be off a bit it was when TN asked Tim Miller and Nejame to insert them-self in the case and it was said that Misty asked Tim to find someone to give her a LDT and he did. Tim was the one that released the results to LE and the public that she failed.
Then we have Art Harris and his sources who we don't know who they are, that claims that Tommy failed his poly as well as Misty's failing her latest poly. As for Ron, Art always claims he passed his. But here is the thing..."LE will not and have not released the results of ANYONE'S POLY", and LE even said early on that they would not release that kind of info to the public or the person who had the poly administered. That is why I always questioned Ron when he claimed he and Misty passed with flying colors. The only reason we know about one of Misty's is because of Tim Miller IMO, and Tim is honest he would not lie...

As for what Art reports, most of his sources are the Cummings/Croslins and the people who he does interview. Not saying that Art lies, just saying her reports what he is told..and IMO, LE has not told anyone anything regarding anyone's poly. Am I making any sense LOL?

You've cleared up what mm she's facing in Putnam. I wondered if her grams were less on the PC charges pending, or if Misty had been able to plea something less in PC ...

Oh, my! Just finished reading the entire thread... 25 years is a long time. She'll be 43 and we still have Putnam sentencing to go, so she could be an old lady by the time she gets out. Somehow I knew she would get the highest sentence.

I agree, could be why I feel there was no justice served today. Not for Haleigh, not for Misty, not for anyone except for Ronald. His 15yr sentence/ 2 charges dropped is what makes me so mad. He is the oldest, most experience, probably is the one that helped Misty get into the drug trade, and is the one that gave LE info about his missing daughter 1 1/2 yrs later to save his own butt. That is what makes me sad/mad/disgusted/disappointed/question what is going on in that town. :cow:

IMO, they should "EACH PAY FOR THEIR CRIMES EQUALLY", and IMO that is not what happen with Hope, Donna, Tommy, Misty and Ron.

And where is Haleigh? Where are the answers to what happen to her? It is a sad day in the USA when a child gets murdered and forgotten...each Day Haleigh is being forgotten IMO by many. Just sad.

& Chelsea's response made me mad. Misty made the molestation claim, & IMO, it deserves to be validated, not pushed aside, denied, & then blamed on the Cummings or the media. Chelsea claiming it was lie, is about the same reaction that Misty got from Lisa, IMO. & that's so wrong. Maybe this is why Misty took off at such a young age. I know a girl who got pregnant & married at 15, to get away from her molester brother.

Misty lies and she is always mean to Tommy. When Misty gets herself in trouble, she points the finger at Tommy. Apparently Tommy got sucked into selling Rx drugs because of Misty. Misty blamed Tommy for the B&Es after the Restraining Order against him was lifted so she could have a place to stay. Misty went along with Ron when he thought it would be fun to put a decapitated rat in his mailbox. I take Misty's allegations against Tommy with a box of salt.

Twenty-five years seems just a tad draconian, IMO. There's just a degree of difference between 'illegal' drug abuse, prescription addicts and alcohol abuse and druggies like her are just selling to use. Throwing the key away with someone her age and with her upbringing says more about us as a society than her 'criminality.' I'm not saying it's right what she did, but in my mind it's not as wrong as attempted murder, rape or child molestation where one committing those crimes would receive a similar sentence or oftentimes less.

I believe it is 85%. She does get credit for time served in the county jail.
I wouldn't be surprised if FL changes their prescription drug trafficking min. man. laws within the next few years and some will have their sentences commutted. There are 139 prisons in FL as it is. They have to be out of room. FL is finally putting into place the federal data base to keep track of the scripts and the doctors that prescribe them. I don't know if this will eliminate the pain mgt. clinics aka Pill Mills, I would say yes, they will not be able to prescribe the large quantities of pills they are now.

If I am not mistaken Tommy's attorney has stated on one of the t.v. shows that he failed a lie detector test. I also believe RC said he and Misty passed their polys very early in the investigation. Like the second or third day. And that was before MC was called back in to have more interviews and tests.

It was supposedly after Tommy failed the last test that he came up with the story implicating cousin Joe. That he failed was also part of Flo's story.

The sympathy is because of the WHYs. & I can't see how somebody couldn't feel sympathy, & saying that someone will never fly right, is a big broad statement, especially when you're talking about a teenager.

I teach 100 to 150 teenagers a day. I can tell you from the first day of class, which ones will fly right, which ones have ptential, which ones I can persuade to the right path, and which ones I will never be able to reach. It comes with experience. 25 years of experience. I am not anti potential, I am just experienced. Experience is just as important as my PhD.

Misty did nothing to show that she was a good candidate for the early offenders program. She had ample time to participate in all the jailhouse programs that would show a judge she was willing to make the effort to be a better person. Not to mention the other charges she has yet to face.

Misty was kept in isolation and not allowed to do anything in St. John's County Jail.

If so, then why hasn't Misty been charged, or even made a POI?

IMO, if Misty was so out of it, or wasn't there, as has also been proposed, these are the things she could have used to probably get a plea. The cops wouldn't charge her if it helped them get a better idea of what happened to Haleigh. But she didn't do that.

Good question. Possibly, LE was waiting to hear if she would spill more about Haleigh leading up to today, which would have made their job much easier. Now, they only have what Ron has told them. Hopefully, soon charges will be made.

I believe both Misty & Ron had a hand in Haleigh's demise, e.g. drug ingestion. Haleigh probably was still OK when Ron left for work & told Misty to watch Haleigh, but Misty continued to get high &/or slept. Thus, Ron tells Misty that she is the one to blame. Maybe now that she's facing 25 years she'll tell more about Ron's part of it.

The max for that charge is 30 yrs. plus fine.
