Did JB explain why he was gone yesterday yet?

If some kind soul could just briefly recap where we are now!!! I won't have time to read back until tonight and am dying here wanting to know what is happening!

Interviewed 4, struck 1, sat the 12th juror and 2 alternates... things motored along and no word about yesterday's "personal matter"

I went to Paris (live in Tampa, FL) back in 2002...I never thought I would be so happy to get back to America! The people in Paris were RUDE and very, very unfriendly...the waiters/waitresses especially! I couldn't wait to get home and go thru a drive-thru window at McDonalds and get a "real" hamburger & "real" McDonalds fries...with a SMILE!!! I will NEVER go to PARIS ever, ever again! They truly hate Americans!

I've been to Paris 3 times now, and other than a few waiters and one hotel clerk, everyone else has been nice and friendly. The only thing that really bugs me about Paris is all the beggars at the tourist spots.

Once, I got a hotel a little more outside the tourist area (by accident), and the people in that area were amazing. I speak a tiny bit of French, and I think the fact I was making an effort went a long way towards people trying to be nice.

IMO, I think there are some Americans that ruin it for the rest of us, and I think it's like that in every country.

I would be embarrassed to sit there and listen to people saying "I think she is guilty". I couldn't take the pressure. I would take a plea deal. The craig's list killer obviously couldn't take the humiliation. What is going through her mind? I can't figure her out.

No, we have the 12, plus 2 in waiting (male teacher and retired lady who adopted her kids). Male teacher, per His Honor, will take the first strike's place. Defense has 1 left, SA 3. I don't think SA will exercise theirs, but I could be wrong. There are 4 instructed jurors in waiting (I think? Could be 3). Then we have 30 of a new pool who have not been read the indictment nor instructed, and with the media coverage there....well...good luck with them.

Plan is to swear the jury tomorrow afternoon and leave for Orlando on Sunday. Opening statements are slated for Monday morning.

#12 is kinda...um...different. 57, never married, no kids, works for Verizon as a retention specialist (the keeper of the pi$$ed off customers). His sister and her boyfriend tied up the dad years and years ago to rob him. She was charged and went to "a facility." BF was never charged or found. Juror is pro DP though.

ETA: Sister is rehabilitated now, married and has 2 kids with whom he spends time.

ICA got pissy because potential juror cried when explaining duct tape on baby

Made the magic number 12 with a hot george clooney like teacher (who's uncle is a former federal agent -yowzer)

ICA - giving an acedemy award performance of "I now have the flu too, feel sorry for meeeeeeeeeeeeeee)

Oh heavens hun.. No one can figure her out.

The best I personally can figure is that she is a narcissist and totally devoid of empathy, or humility, understanding ANYONE else on any other level, and on top of that she is totally bold faced arrogant and figures she is going to win this..


As I've said before.. Why plea when you think you will win. Why say OK I did it.. when YOU KNOW IN YOUR HEAD that you DIDNT and You wont admit guilt to something you DIDNT do... She's a headcase to be polite!

Not just Disney or even just Florida, same thing ALL over the USA. In fact I like Americans so much I married one. :wink:

I started visiting from the UK 8 years ago and came here (California) to live around 5 years ago. I have travelled all over in the meantime (have yet to get to Florida but it's on my 'must see' list) and have found the welcome, friendliness and hospitality everywhere to be exceptional.

I have a friend who has travelled all over over America. She has always had a very good experiences from each state she's visited. My dream is to travel across America with my husband when my kids have flown the nest. Americans are definitely my kind of people. I really want to visit New Jersey....watching too much Jersey Shore and RHONJ I'm in love with American/Italians.

We also let you slide into traffic when we're at a stop. If you're ever in Florida and someone doesn't allow you to squeeze into traffic... they are from somewhere else (I won't say where... don't want to offend anyone). :floorlaugh:

I like the sound of that - up here in Vancouver - you come to a full stop and look both ways before accelerating because you can count on some fool going through a red light. We can always tell a non-BC er because they honk behind us. Durn fools!
