2011.05.20 Jury Selection DAY ELEVEN (Morning Session)

To be honest, with as much attention this trial has, I'm shocked the judge is allowing the public to sit in the courtroom at all.

I have in session on and I put it on full volume. ICA says "that is why I said these proceedings should be closed" then she said "should not be open to the public like I said" - then she says "I am fine"

Not at all concernednfor herself.

I think the judge has to look up law on how he can control the gallery, possible mistrial?

CM - DT wants the PJ excused because she was present during that "outrageous outburst". Did not hear the SA's response.

Mason said he wanted witness excused....It's a PJ Mason.

Oh I disagree - I think being in jail so long has institutionalized her - did you notice her body language right after? ICA was already to square up and she tried to look tough and manish and put her hands in her pockets. It's easy to act tough when you are in protective custody or in a court room surrounded by your attorneys and all the deputy's. I just thought her whole attitude and body language through that incident was fascinating.

Casey didn't have much of a reaction other than a red face and shaking her head. When the woman yelled, she turned her head so slowly.

Call me crazy, but if it were me and I were innocent, I would have started crying and yelled back: "I didn't kill my daughter!" because it would have:
A) made me angry
B) hurt me to hear the word "kill" associated with my deceased daughter that was "missing" and I never got to say goodbye.

they are saying on InSesson that Casey was upset, not what I saw...she didn't even realize until the guard was taking the lady out.

she wasn't even startled as far as I could see. Okay, now the man who was inside said she did not have any great reaction.

Yeah. That's better. She had the same reaction as everyone else.

Just to clarify, her shoes are not tied together... they are white (or light) colored flat shoes that look like a cross between mary janes & ballet slippers. I would guess she took them off to be comfortable, they looked pretty tiny... not defending her, shoes should always be on IMO in public anywhere!
