In order to establish the nature of the odor emanating from ICA's trunk, the OCSO contacted leading expert in field of biochem of human decomp - Arpad Vass, will testify during the trial, in 20 years studying decomp odor he has spent last 10 identifying hte chemical compos of the very distinctive odor of human comp. When he opened this can collected by OCSO that contained samples of spare tire cover in trunk of ICA's car he immediately recognized the unmistakable odor of human decomp.
