Ratings. I saw him the other night and any credibility he had with me was gone.
 
I used to like Dr. Drew, but he has disappointed me with his latest shows on this case. Candice D. mentioned sociopathy as a possible cause of Casey's behavior and Dr. Drew seemed to think that a past history of animal abuse, torture should have been present. I am surprised that someone, with his psych education, believes the two must go together.
 
Glad somebody started this thread because I caught some of Dr. Drew before DH turned the t.v. back to the hockey game. What I heard made me so angry.

Dr. Drew was talking about how it is common for abuse victims to zone out which is what ICA appears to be doing in court. There were a couple of callers that were going on about how Casey is presenting like an abuse victim the way she sits and blank stares in court. Ummmm why is Dr. Drew and anybody else for that matter basing their "diagnosis" on Casey's court room acting?
When I see pictures and videos of Casey from three years ago she surely doesn't appear to be "tuned out/blank staring" etc.

This carp makes me sick and scares me that JB's nonsense has been eaten up by the public and I hope the jury isn't thinking along those lines. I pray the jury members are smart enough to expect psychiatrists to present such evidence (and we know there isn't any) to speak to ICA's behavior.

Who was the attorney that was on his show last night? He was "giving his advice on what JB & Co. need to do to win the case"...he was just as obnoxious as the good doctor.
 
All this analysis.......far from being politically correct, but has the word "crazy" been stricken from Webster's??
 
He shouldn't be commenting on cases that he knows nothing about. He has proved himself to be a media <modsnip>
Why don't these people realize that putting themselves out there on thing that don't involve them just undermine their credibility?
Are they really that nieve?

I was disgusted when this man made his "diagnosis" - sorry about the quotes - a few days ago when it was obvious he knew diddly squat about this case.

What happened to morals?
 
I happen to be a fan of Dr. Drew, but I didn't catch his show tonight. Did he say if he believed she had been molested? He is usually very fair-minded from what I have seen. I have a great deal of respect for the work he does with addicts. He reaches out to people who would otherwise not be considering rehab. He just lost two former patients from Celebrity Rehab, actor Jeff Conaway and Mike Starr, the former bassist for Alice in Chains.

I will never believe that KC was molested by George and/or Lee. And I am not a huge fan of Lee. But while there was dysfunction aplenty, I don't see sexual abuse there. But I think she thought of it as her "Get Out of Jail Free Card," kinda like, yeah, that'll work, never mind that it takes down her family with her? What does she care? If she goes to jail she won't get to see 'em anyway! But that's for another thread . . .
 
I will not comment I am too mad. He has seen the posts and venom toward him as he appeared to defend her and he said he is not, he is just like us (no, linda, you are not)

I am glad to see at least he mentions something like the abuse or alleged abuse does not seem to rise to the level of trauma to do these things (something like that)

baby steps... I can't watch the show, I mute it if the blonde casey supporter attorney comes on, she annoys me.

(ok realized right after I say I will not comment, i do comment LOL)
 
I think the focus is wrong.

The kind of lying coming from Casey is abusive.

She is abusive!!!!!!Why not start with that fact and not mystify it----it is abusive.

That behavior deliberately denies the other personality reality. I repeat,,,deliberately!!!!

The other person becomes an object to be used for Casey's selfish interests.
 
I generally respect Dr. Drew. I think he has done amazing work treating addictions...however he is an INTERNIST AND ADDICTION MEDICINE SPECIALIST...I do not see that that makes him fully qualified to practice psychology....while he may be well versed with these topics is he actually credentialed to provide these opinions?

I am sad to say that I have lost some respect for him.
 
LOL i'm glad you asked! I should have said Linda Tripp.. He reminded me today of when Linda Tripp (monica lewinsky gal who blew the lid off that one) when she was deposed and came out to the steps and said something like 'Im you, "im just like you"

Well when Dr Drew got a dose of some very unhappy viewers and fans he leaned into the camera and said "I'm just like you"

I burst out giggling... It reminded me of when Linda got bad press and wanted to tell us she is just like one of us :)

... and that is kind of refreshing, seeing someone actually change as they collect facts. Not everyone is like some of us - totally consumed by the case (and that can't be a healthy thing for many). He never seems to act like he knows it all and once again, just as a reminder, a presenters words read are rarely their own, that is the job of the poor little producer that is told at 4 o'clock - "This is what I want to talk about tonight, get me someone to speak to, and do a write-up for the intro, I'll be down in make-up."

I liked him also before he starting rolling with the abuse thing. I was a regular viewer until he started doing this and now I refuse to watch him. He said at the beginning of the week that he has received a lot of negative remarks since he has tried to discuss the abuse possibilities. But I see he's still going with it.
 
Dr. Drew NEVER gets his info right. It's crazy how inaccurate he is on everything and I absolutely refuse to watch him.

He usually hears snippets of something and runs with it.
 
I caught his show the other night when MG was on (I believe he is SP's former attorney) and LP. MG said something like "GA knew he was being recorded while giving statements and he said ICA's car smelled bad for a reason." (I can't remember exactly what he said but he implied GA was framing ICA). LP was very upset and said he would be honest in that situation and teaches his children to be honest (I was proud!). Then (I'm mad at this point, lol) they talk to LP like crap and when LP defends GA, MG has the nerve to say HOW DO YOU KNOW SHE HAD THE BABY AT A BOYFRIENDS PRIOR TO JUNE and WHY WASN'T GA AND CA CONCERNED? Are you kidding me, it's in ex-boyfriends DEPO MG and if Im not mistaken ICA was lying to GA&SA about their whereabouts so why should GA&CA have been concerned from the get go! I turned the show off after that and will never watch it again!!!!!
 
He took two callers that talked about sexual abuse victims and their behaviors. IIRC disassosiative behavoir...and another I can't remember right off hand.

By the end of the show he was pretty much summing up that KC would not have suffered sexual abuse that would have caused her to have severe psychological reactions...etc. You have to go back and listen to that part of the program.

He really seems stuck on it has to be an accident theory. That she accidently died while KC was being neglectful or really egregious parenting.

But he had a guest on today that kind of explained that legally if she did use chloroform to put Caylee to sleep so she could go out to party that would be death caused by aggravated child abuse and therefore could be seen as murder.

I don't care for his show but he's approaching it from a place of absolutely no fore-knowledge and puzzling out the details as they stand now. (State's Vs. Defense explanations of what happened).

I disagree with his argument that because we haven't seen proof that KC suffered from the classic triad we see with psychopaths that she can't be one. Not that I think she is, I just find his argument naive and am a bit surprised given his education. JMHO.
