He roller-coaster, he got early warning
He got muddy water, he one mojo filter
He say "One and one and one is three"
Got to be good-looking cos he's so hard to see
Come together right now over me

I have to agree, as much as I loved Dr. Vass and his testimony, I'm wondering about this lack of procedures and protocols, too. JA is VERY GOOD at what he does, or JB is REALLY BAD at what he does- since DT has not been able to really get this point across in a strong way.

Dr Vass works in a research science facility - it is not that there are no protocols or procedures or quality assurance, it is that they aren't the same as if you were in an FBI lab that deals with criminal evidence day in day out. Nevertheless that does not negate the results that Dr Wise or Dr Vass got in their lab.

This "protocol/procedure/bench note" whooha stuff has been going on since LKB got involved in the case but it is her 101, it's her "holy grail" - if you can't attack the results (cos they know damn well that what was on the napkins was adipocere) then attack the method, attack the lab, attack the scientists.

Maybe Joypath could chime in on this as I know next to nothing about it.

Oh wow. I didn't know that. That explains it for me. She really does not look and act like a defense attorney. She's too soft spoken, sweet, imo.

Why in the world did she take on this case? :banghead:

IMO, she took on this case for the same reason all of the rest of them did (not excluding their experts. Publicity!

Has anybody seen Lee in the courtroom? I thought he was granted permission but he has only been there a couple of days.

We need beer with our pizza... order up!

Since he is probably the only one working in the family, maybe he can't take that much time off?

Just heard a commentator on In Session saying the jury is trying to stay focused, but many are stretching, reaching for water, having a hard time....Not surprising...

Just goes to show how powerful Dr. Arpad Vass´ testimony is. He rocks!!

What is wrong with me - I have WESH on and am watching Simms over again!!!!!

IMO, the expert witness seemed perturbed that his testimony was limited to explaining middle-school science terminology.

Hey guys- A few people brought up Rick P.'s (Cindy's brother) interview with LE... I found the link in the document thread but its no longer available. Anyone have a working link? I don't remember reading it my first time around and it seems like it'd be interesting (to add to this dull trial day)
Don't usually post but want you guys to know your comments keep me up to speed throughout the day!

I think Dr. Logan is fully aware of the difference between a research lab and his lab and shame on him for not making that clear to the jury. jmo

research labs are often the ones that make up the protocols used by forensic labs. Hope that helps.

Remember the sticky heart residue? The forensic lab followed protocals because that's what they do. That evidence was lost. IMO They are really not paid to think, but to run proceedures & follow rules and document the results.

A reasearch lab would have seen it, said Hey...this is interesting...let me take photos ...before I start a process that will destroy it. See what I mean?

Actually this is a damn good point - how much did Baez bang on about protocols and evidence was lost and now here they love protocols when it suits them.

Bet she's wondering the same thing herself.
