Prosecution just shot themselves in the foot. "There was no reason to think about the smell in the car, they were looking for a kidnapped little girl". paraphrase.

Hello? So, there's a missing child and everyobody's car smells like there's been a dead body in the damned thing. No need to worry about odor.

If everyone is telling you, "Go find our baby. She's been kidnapped." You would be getting all the info you could to find the kidnappers and rescue the baby.

Anything else would be secondary. As soon as they waded through all her lies, they went back to the smell. Now, they had a reason to believe it might be relevant to the issue before them.

I like LDB pauses, they make JB's less obvious...just another pause. Yah know what I mean? The jury will be able to "Tune him out" because it is just another pause in LBD's discussion.

IMO, she just put a huge nail in the coffin - PLEASE LET THE JURORS (or at least one of them recall this).

The detectives were trying to HELP CASEY FIND CAYLEY AND said to her "please, we are trying to help you find your daughter, QUIT LYING TO US."
