I also feel bad for the alternates! They don't know they're not going to get to deliberate. :(

Even worse, HHJP is going to hold them sequestered until verdict comes.

I agree with his reasoning though.

I really pay no attention to anyone's opinion about the verdict if they haven't heard the evidence the jury heard. Listening to closing arguments only doesn't qualify. Closing arguments aren't evidence.

Good Lord she just sits there as he says "Caylee Marie Anthony is dead" over and over

I have never seen anything like her (ICA) in a court room .... totally absence of soul

You are correct! ICA has no soul! My hubby (who did not follow the case as closely as I did) commented on the way she just sits there with her stone face. He wonders why after all these weeks of people tesitfying against her or saying awful things about her that she hasn't snapped. I think that when the verdict is read (GUILTY of Murder 1) that she will completely snap, meltdown, scream, yell and collapse.

This bears repeating
Thank you is not enough.
Eloquently worded, Bless you.

It has been said that it takes a Village to raise a child...

We ALL, gathered together & virtual strangers, thru these horrendous circumstances, have become a Village to mourn & weep for this beautiful child whose life was extinguished by the ONE person who should have laid down her life & died to protect her. She was far too selfish & self absorbed to see what a precious gift that God had given to her, that's more than apparent....
WE, as a Village, have also come together, along with many other people around the globe, to seek JUSTICE for Caylee..... My one hope out of all of this is that her beautiful & innocent soul knows only peace & that swift justice will be brought upon the person who threw her away like trash. As CA once stated, "Caylee belonged to all of us" Indeed she did, as she has touched all of our lives in a significant way, otherwise we would not all be here, fighting & praying for Justice for this little girl that we have fought for as if she was our own. My heartfelt prayers go out to each and every one of you, to the jurors during their difficult deliberations, to the SAO, HHJP & every other person who came forward to fight for justice for Caylee. As hard as this is for me to say this, I even pray for ICA, specifically that regardless of what transpires on this earth, that God will have mercy on her soul..... May you all know & feel peace during the duration of the time that the jury deliberates.

is he also a blonde. nothing personal just can't believe anyone could think that. but, that is what i want to think. sorry don't mean to offend your husband. jmo

LOL I think he's just trying to "act smart"
Too bad it makes him look SO stupid! :banghead:

I am way too much of a visual learner for these oral instructions. If I was a juror, I would surely need to read and reread them during delibrations.

Me, too. They will get written instructions from the judge, as well.

I still believe the jury will only deliberate for two days.

CA, rarely, if ever looks at the judge when he's speaking! How RUDE!!!:maddening:

Circumstantial evidence can still result in a guilty verdict. See Scott Peterson. Like Bill S said, there was MUCH less actual evidence in Scott Peterson case, and he's sitting on death row. One juror in that case said that him not testifying, although not supposed to mean much, really didn't sit well with him.
This jury knows that circumstantial evidence is allowed to result in a guilty verdict, especially if they believe 100% that she did it. They just need to make sure there is no REASONABLE doubt, and the 'doubt' that the Defense has provided is, as LDB and JA pointed out, NOT reasonable. It's ABSURD.

Exactly, and let me make the point that ALL evidence in a trial is circumstantial, unless there are witnesses who actually saw the crime occur. That is the only time we get direct evidence. Even DNA is considered circumstantial evidence. So the vast, vast majority of all murder trials are based on circumstantial evidence.

ICA took a deep breath - I wonder if its finally sinking in?

what's sinking in? the fact she will have to back to her cell and sit and wait, and wait and wait. no more daily excursions to the court room? yes.

that she may be going to jail for murder? no.

i don't think she will ever take responsibility for the death of caylee. she will continue to blame it on someone else. i don't think she will ever take responsibility for any of her charges.

If she's found guilty she's never going to let them visit her.

JMO, but I don't think so. She's going to go on blaming her family members for her circumstance so I don't think there's much to look for in the way of visitation. She'll get starved for attention at some point so I can see her doing an interview with some media outlet at some point.

Casey is not shaking her head or working up tears as she did during jury selection when Chief Judge read indictment.

I really hope there aren't any jurors like my DH right now. He does believe she did it one hundred percent, BUT for him it is all about the concrete evidence. He says because it is just circumstantial and no absolute proof she did it, that leads to reasonable doubt. As much as he would hate it, he would have to say NAY, even though he feels she is guilty.

Almost all cases like this are circumstantial. Hubby is thinking "Beyond the shadow of a doubt" NOT "reasonable dout". Everyone can have doubts but are they reasonable is the question. With that kind of thinking no one would ever be convicted unless there was a video of the crime itself.

That is the excuse the jury gave w/OJ. The State proved their case w/OJ but the jury refused to consider or did not understnd "Reasonable Doubt". They were thinking "Beyond the Shadow of a Doubt". Many do not understand the concept. I have to reseach the term Beyond the words shadow of a doubt. I never knew our justice system to use that term.
