While I understand your reasonable assessment, I will continue to locate where I read the part about JRR's father attempting to avoid police by leading them on a chase when JLR hit a tree creating a fatal accident. I did not pull that conclusion out of thin air.

However, until we definitively learn differently, we will stand by JRR's father's obit that mentions the death occurred while in the Philippines. Mr. JLR passed on Sept 3 and was buried on Sept 29, 2007 which could explain the length of time required in receiving his casket from the Philippines as that action takes some time.

:cow:

DeDee, please accept my apology. :blowkiss:
I certainly didn't mean to imply you made it up. Their names are so similar I just assumed they might have somehow gotten crossed or blended. (JRR and JLR)
Maybe the accident actually happened in the Philippines and that could be the reason we can't find the link now? Perhaps some journalist researched when this story was hot for an article right after JRR's was first arrested for this brutal murder.

Note:

Removed a few recent posts.

A link to a reliable source that confirms JR's father's manner of death will be permitted to stand.

Please - no linking to obituaries (identifies a host of innocent people) and no sleuthing of family/friends of JR. Crosses the line.

I realize there was no malicious intention -.from a moderation perspective, we deal with obits in nearly every case. They are rarely permitted and only for some exceptional reason.

Just keep it between the lines and always defer on the side of protecting the privacy of innocents.

:bump:

Are we getting ready to welcome JRR to Florida. I believe he will be released Monday and hopefully LE will be waiting to greet and escort him on down. Clock is ticking. I wonder where they will hold him surely not in the same facility as CWW.

BBM

I don't know, that might make the gums flap faster. :happydance:

I wouldn't worry about JR being released in MO. IMO, there is a plan in place for JR's transfer from federal to FL state custody. As SeeSeas pointed out above, US Marshals will be involved.

Most booking systems have a section where the 'holds or detainers' are recorded if there are charges with another agency. That agency will be notified in advance that the inmate will be released on such and such a date and are turned over to that agency the day of that release. That can even be as soon as one minute after midnight of the release date. I do know that the Marshal's Service uses the same booking/release system I was taught because I trained with the different agencies. That was back when AFIS came into being.

IMO, there is no way Sheriff Scott is going to let Rodgers breathe one minute of free air. Federal Marshall's will have released Rodgers through their release process and Sheriff Scott will have officers there to take him into custody and transport him to Florida. Once Rodgers released from Federal custody, they (the Marshal's) are no longer responsible for him. It is an exchange of custody. What also might happen is the transport of Rodgers to Florida PRIOR to his release date to another Federal Prison even though they have no obligation to do so.

Sheriff Scott is on his game and will be sure Rodgers is taken into his custody the very first available moment, IMO.

So Florida LE will take over and transport JR? The Feds will be done with him after he is released?

Are prisoners released where they are held at or where they were arrested and sentenced at. In this case he was arrested in MO but is incarcerated in Il. Heck he could be going over the Popular St. bridge over the Mississippi river and tell the officers " ok i am home let me out"

If JR is transferred to a Federal facility in Florida, is there a public record that will reveal that?

Since Rodgers would have served his time in Federal custody, then yes, they will be done with him, IMO.

IMO, Rodgers could be released from where he is held at because all Federal prisons are considered as the same.

February 18! It's getting closer!

I still believe it'll be a couple months more before the Sunshine Laws for JRR's charges begin to have jurisdiction with his arrival. I'd like to be wrong, but I still believe it'll be closer to April 15 before his welcome to Florida cake can be baked. We're all going to need a bit more patience with the extradition process. IMO.

WHAT????? *flips over table and stomps off*

Just kidding KateB. Do you think we will have to wait for him to go through that whole extradition hearing process before we get him here?

ETA: oops, sorry. I reread your post and see you addressed it in the last sentence

Do you mean it will be that long before we start getting doc dumps or that it will take that long to get him to Lee County?

When he comes, maybe they should let him drive. He knows the route..... with GPS anyway.

Before we get to see his Lee County booking photo. His coming to FL should not impact any of the timing of the doc dumps in CWW's case. As NIN mentioned, the SAO said a couple weeks ago to check back in a couple weeks so those should continue with and without JRR's presence in FL.

Again, I'm guessing. Just trying to calm font sizes down in case we really do still have another 60 or so days to go. :)

Is JR being held in the Greenville IL federal prison? Also is he 25?

Most of the discovery for JRR should be the same stuff we're getting for CWW.

Has JRR and CWW been allowed contact with each other through prison mail. I'm assuming not since they are probably not allowed to talk to each other but where will JRR be housed when he's released to FL? The same jail has CWW? Can someone shed some light to what might happen between the two of them? Will they be against each other or stick together as a team. Not quite sure what they of MS right now.
