How did I miss this? Charges were filed just before the close of court on Monday evening.
Maybe Trent Kelly (gonna send that cutie some chocolate chip cookies one day...he is doing a great job) wanted a copy of the docs the second they were available and put up his own money.

The state has filed second-degree murder charges against Curtis Wayne Wright Jr. for the killing of Dr. Teresa Sievers.

The charges were filed late Monday, said State Attorney Samantha Syoen.
She added "The delay in filing charges was because the office needed the weekend to go through all the evidence."

Even if it is upgraded to first degree the DA doesn't have to prove which one did what. All they have to prove is both were complicit or both were there when it happened. Even if one drove the other one there but didn't do the actual murder they are still as legally guilty of the same charge by law as the one who actually murdered her.

I'm curious why the state attorney DIDN'T assemble a grand jury to upgrade charges to first degree? Second degree for a targeted hit and the brutal bludgeoning of TS, has left me dumbfounded today. Didn't we all think, once CWW was extradited to Florida the charges would be upgraded? :thinking:

Interesting. I'm hoping that if there is going to be another arrest(s) we will see it by 11/30. I can't imagine that these two people are going to be charged with 2nd degree and that's it. Something else has to be coming.

In recent cases in Southwest Florida, grand jury indictments on first-degree murder charges happened weeks or months after a person’s arrest on lesser charges.

I believe a "not guilty" plea is automatic, when the death penalty is on the plate. But the booking photo (in post #1 of this thread) seems to tell a different story.

To me, CWW's expression does not say, "Oh my God in Heaven! How could they ever THINK it was ME?!"

Neither does it seem to be saying, "I am so, SO very sorry! I just don't KNOW what came over me! I just SNAPPED! I am SO SORRY!!!" (CWW is not hanging his head in shame.)

Instead, it seems to me that CWW is laughing behind his eyes and saying, "See what I can do when you cross me?"

CWW does not look shocked or sorry. He looks guilty. And laughing about it. Just look into his eyes!

CWW's bff MS already has the gall to be professing his innocence, so I'm sure they both think he will be getting off. Can't wait until the discovery starts hitting them both in the face - which should be very soon.
