I don't think the family was living in abject poverty, but I do think they were low income. That was a given connection in my mind without even thinking about it. I saw a fair amount of poverty growing up, so I know that people, living close to the edge, don't do things intentionally to break the law, but mostly out of necessity.dark_shadows said:Buzzm1,I did not think of the poor community aspect until you just posted it.
It reminds me of when New Orleans was told to evacuate.The poor were mainly the ones to suffer.No vehicles to transport the out of the city.Some had no communication to even know that something was wrong.Actions out of poverty were not in my thoughts when I posted.Thank-you.

We were framing the picture differently.
Maybe So, by the time your realized the oncoming driver wasn't going to stop, it would be too late to back up a few feet, to pull off to the side, and in this case, there didn't appear to be a shoulder in that area.Maybe So said:SNIP
an older driver may have noticed the semi coming up from behind and pulled out of the way onto the shoulder of the road or something.
