I think it's seven years too late for that. I'd need about a thousand questions answered to acquire any semblance of peace coming out of this nightmare. I can boil it all down to one question, really, directed at everyone from RA to the people that investigated, detained, prosecuted and defended him. One question:
What the hell, dude?

IMO RA is the guy and he did it because he could and he liked it. JMO
I wouldn’t be surprised if this wasn’t the first time. JMO
IMO it was just the first time he got caught by someone wiser than small town cops that don’t have much experience in gruesome child murders by strangers.

I also think RA did it. I think he probably fantasized for a long time and then the opportunity presented itself and he took control.

if not for some bumbling by LE, this case would have been tied up and packaged within a year.

missing part of the video.
23.To make matters more suspicious, Holeman claims in his November
1, 2022, report (memorializing his October 26 interrogation of Rick
Allen) the following: “I asked Mr. Allen if he remembered the other
detectives reading him his Miranda rights and he said yes. I told him
he was free to go at anytime and that the door was unlocked.”
24.Holeman’s report doesn’t identify who the other investigators are
that purportedly reviewed Miranda with Rick.
25.Holeman’s report doesn’t detail when, where or how these purported
investigators purportedly reviewed Miranda with Rick.
26.Holeman’s words quoted in paragraph 23 above appear nowhere on
video. In other words, Holeman is not shown asking Rick Allen about
his rights, nor is Holeman viewed telling Rick Allen that he is free to
leave.
27. In his report, Holeman indicates that those words were stated to Rick
Allen at the very beginning of the interview. The beginning of the
interview is missing.

I feel this.

I think we all wish things were different from the beginning.. I think LE most of all wishes things were different. There were mistakes made and I don't think any of them were intentional, but they happened. I think many of those in LE will never let it go that things were missed and that this man could have been caught a long time ago and probably avoid 75% of the speculation and suspicions that have happened since. But here we are and we still have prosecutors and LE who are determined to get justice for Abby and Libby. We just have to hang on.

I look at Abby and Libby's families and how strong they are.. their faith that justice will be served and it reminds me that if they can have that hope and assurance, then I sure can too.

Video just don't work right here in Indiana.
 
I do think it could get tossed if no proof of Miranda rights. Really sad if they were so eager to arrest that they made this huge error. I’m not swayed by anything else like the swearing or the cop having a height advantage.

If this gets tossed and all his confessions the state still has a case to present.

Not surprised one bit. Building that appeal case stronger and stronger.

Question - do Miranda rights have to be read every single time a new interrogation is started? Meaning, the one from October 13th wasn't still "in effect," right?

So LE told him there was a gun used in this crime before his "confession" about shooting the girls in the back came out. He must have believed them! ......

What a mess!!

their questioning, (even positioning their bodies closer to Rick), Rick
said the following: “It’s over. I was perfectly fine. I was cooperating.
I was going to give you my phone and then, you know, when you
started reading all these documents – that’s at the – here’s my thing
is. I feel like you guys think I done this. So, I’m done. You do what
you need to do. It’s your job. I understand that, but you better <edit for language>
leave my reputation out if it. So you do what you need to do, and then,
like I said, when you do find this guy, I’ll expect the apology.” Rick
then described how police were trying to ruin his reputation by
accusing him of the murders in public, even groping him as they
patted him down in the street. Rick was expressing that the mere act
of mentioning his name as a possible killer or patting him down on a
public street as if he were a criminal would ruin his reputation and
was greatly upsetting.

This was before he was questioned with his wife. He told them he was done. More than once. That should have been the end of it right there. No more questions without a lawyer present. In quotes; not a defense interpretation of the facts. Actual quotes. Disaster.

Considering he committed the crime he knew a gun had been used. So LE hardly spoiled that surprise.
