Welcome back to the Delphi Murders discussion thread.

On the afternoon of Feb. 13th, 2017, best friends Abigail Williams and Liberty German were dropped off at a bridge in the town of Delphi. On Feb 14th their bodies were discovered around noon about 50 feet from the north bank of Deer Creek which is about 0.5 miles from the bridge.

Richard Allen has been arrested and charged with the murders of Abby and Libby

All these claims of "glaring" made me think of an interview I saw where the Pattys were asked about being in the same courtroom as RA. You have to scroll down to see the full 9-minute interview (It's not in the video that plays at the top of this article).

March 2023 Dr. G from ISP wanted to speak with RA. Dr. Walla indicated that she told RA she didn't think it was a good idea. They did not meet.

Dr. Walla took notes during RA's sessions, input them into the system and then shred the originals. She said that was typical for her. Walla doesn't work for Westville, she works for a subcontractor.

Mental Health at certain points in 2023:

March - Struggling
April 4th - Poor, deteriorating, "death would bring relief"
April 12th - Banging head on wall
April 13th - Consuming feces
April 21st - Concern competent to stand trial
May 3rd - RA wanted to Confess to her and began to do so in details
May 17th - Paranoia
July 11th - Saw Mental Health being restored in noticeable way

Dr. Walla said at times during her visits she thought RA might possibly be faking symptoms. At 47 minute mark on MS Podcast. Murder Sheet

I also find it coincidental that all of the more dramatic mental behavior came on in late March - May when the bulk of Discovery by the State was delivered to RA. 2 1/2 months of this behavior change and then in July the ship seemed to right itself and he was doing markedly better.

RA asks her to stay this time and listen as he confesses, tells his wife everything. After that they stop communications with him again, he confesses to Dr.W in detail. My take on what was said.

Yes, I had another transcribed post but the thread closed and it went poof along with it. LOL

According to Dr. W. she did get a phone for RA to call his wife and dialed the number and left the room. RA spoke for a minute and when Dr. W came back in he asked her to call his wife back and to stay and listen to the conversation, which she did.

His family did not want RA to confess, kept discouraging him from confessing, including hanging up on him when he talked about it and finding God, and wanted him to fight the charges. They kept saying he had been brain washed, etc.

When it comes to the trial we are only going to get the highlights, summaries or what stood out most of all on the day rather than everything as it unfolds without anything being filtered.

1 more day of hearings in Delphi. Today the prosecutor is asking the judge for the ability to keep information from the jury. They want to suppress statements by the defense team that points to an alternate theory that someone else committed the murders.

Which I believe is the #1 item in my list above.

The revelation came during a day filled with surprising testimony as Delphi murders suspect Richard Allen returned to court for a second day of hearings.

After many months of conflict and contentious interactions – including Gull and Allen’s lawyers asking the Indiana Supreme Court to remove the other from the case – both sides have displayed nothing but professionalism, patience and courtesy throughout the first two days of pre-trial hearings. At one point during Wednesday’s hearing, Gull and defense attorney Brad Rozzi were smiling at one another and seemed to be sharing a lighter moment during a brief meeting between the judge and attorneys.

Other notes from Wednesday's hearing​

The prison psychologist assigned to treat Allen while he served time at the Westville Correctional Facility testified that she has long been fascinated by the Delphi murders and that she and her boyfriend traveled together to Delphi so they could visit the crime scene and stand on the Monon High Bridge prior to learning of Allen’s arrest.

Dr. Monica Wala said she frequently listens to true crime podcasts about the Delphi murders case during her commute to the Westville prison and has commented on social media about which of those podcasts she recommends. She also admitted she used her IDOC-issued computer to research other people mentioned as having possible involvement in the murders, a possible violation of department policy.

Wala testified that she also spoke with Allen about the positive comments she has read online from his supporters, and she advised him not to discuss his possible involvement in the murders with anyone other than his defense attorneys. Asked by Rozzi if her actions presented a conflict of interest and ethical problems, Wala responded “I disagree.”

Yep. The comments remove any doubt that RA can, and will, receive a fair trial in front of a jury of peers who will be able to acquit, should the evidence not be presented BARD to convict.
