I wonder what the draw was to them. Samuels and ALV....was t the money. Did they sell their soul? How could they believe her. If she pulled the wool over their eyes.....or at least thought she did...."may e she thought the jury could be convinced not knowing lavawhatshername and Samuels were bought?

ALV actually believes ALL women are abused/battered by their husbands and/or domestic partners simply by virtue of the fact that they are male! Why did she take the case? $$$ and new 'clients'. She stated that she was no longer involved in the shelter on a day to day basis; she was only seeing 'clients' in her office.

Dr. Samuels never believed JA had PTSD. He had to leave the East Coast because of a disciplinary action several years ago; he needed $$$. His CV ran the gaumut from soup to nuts - he even listed 'immigration' as one of his specialties. THe CV has since been removed from the net.

People with personality disorders can fool some professionals. DeMarte and Hayes were absolutely correct, Samuels was lied to, and presented with the Ninja story, so by the time he figured her out, he was financially invested. He definitely crossed ethical lines. ALV, well, I do not know her, and I am certain she has been a strong advocate for many victims of DV, but she really went over board in terms of the time she spent with the defendant. She absolutely formed a dual relationship and became an advocate for her. I do think they were both tainted by the almighty dollar. ALV spent upwards of probably 100 or more hours. I think she just got sucked in and did not see the pathology.

Bottom line is that their findings were flawed and their testimony and reputations were discredited not only by their peers, but by most trial watchers, who did not need a degree to see they were full of malrchy! I have seen so much excellent analysis by lay people who have no psychology degree. It was a matter of common sense. So the defense found someone to support thier DV claims, but honest professionals worth their salt would never have come to the conclusions the DT experts did.

You know what .. I don't think either ALV or Dr Samuals were fooled at all, I think both had ample evidence of her deceit .. I think Samuals was instrumental in creating the Fognesia™ just as ALV was instrumental in creating the battered womens syndrome excuse. They trained her in what to say and how to act, and they were supposed to come in after her testimony to reinforce it for the jury before final arguments. Neither one is deceived and they were paid for their work. Neither one was good enough for Juan or Dr DeMarte, and Jodi herself went off script on the stand and didn't play along like a good little girl because she can't. You can see Nurmi lose interest in the case completely at that time, he knew then it had failed, he knew then his client was going to get Murder 1 and he'd lost the trial. It's all about winning, and Jodi's lawyers will blame her and the experts, just as much as Jodi will blame them.

This is kind of old (pre trial) but it is a handwritten letter JA wrote to the judge BEGGING to keep Nurmi from withdrawing from her case. I thought after reading it, that it was NOTE WORTHY, hope you guys do.

That was interesting.
If anyone has links to other documents similar to this one, I am very interested in seeing them. I am unfamiliar with what took place in the early days of the case (prior to trial), back when CFJA had different defense teams (and also when she represented herself).

I think I would tell her "My IQ is higher than yours, and I do not consider myself to be anything but average".
And knowing 10 dollar words also does not make you a genius, but I do not think she understands that at all. Again, she intakes and absorbs to try to add more humanity to her facade, but it is an epic fail.

My kids all live in seattle! Out of four I've heard from two! On top of that I've been sick. I've always been healthy energetic for my 65 years. I just had an email from my doctor telling me ! I have gall stones ....explains the pain I've been in for sometime. But my dr emails me tests results rather than call me in for a consultation! Ok I'm on a heating pad ! for the pain. Than he proceeds to tell me that I have plaque in my heart. Some clogging! I'm like you email me to tell me I got gall stones and heart issues! like you did when you ordered me a glucose meter! I pick up my meds and there's a glucometer. I'm like wtf what's this ...few days later I get a call (first). Well anyways I have to wait till office hours to get an explanation. For the gall and heart! He has his gall to send it over email.

I'm thinking what if I had cancer and two months to live! Would he email me and say! Hi mrs doe! I hope you get this email within two months if not! Say hi to god for me. lol

I am so terribly sorry for you not feeling well, me asking you for advice for my minor issue, two calls instead of four, your choice of dinner, and last but certainly not least your PRIMARY CARE DR. emails you instead of a phone call or bringing you in asap to discuss your results!!!! That is completely unacceptable...I can see a specialist doing something so cold and calloused but not your family doctor (I work for ortho specialists, nothing warm & fuzzy there!), please speak with neighbors and friends and find a new Dr if you can. Again, I am so sorry for all that you are dealing with! Happy Mother's Day to you and it is so good to know that you can find your blessings even when you are down and not feeling well. Our attitude is the most important survival tool we own. If I or any other WS member knew where you lived and I was anywhere close I would happily bring you a nice meal and flowers. (Sorry but it would not be home-made as you would be better off with the Banquet dinner!:floorlaugh

Juan would get the drop on her (really, a prosecutor who doesn't carry a gun? Pfft!), shoot her in her leg ("Oh, owie, that stings!"), she would fall to the ground, her fake teeth would go flying across the dock, her contacts would pop out, he would recognize her and say "aHAH, Ms. Arias!" (extenuating the last name with a most pronounced Spanish accent), JA would wince "Nooooooooo! But I'm a GRINGA!!!", start melting on the dock and her slime would fall into the sea, a ring of dead fish bobbing to the surface as the slick ever widened..................and all that would be left would be her $300 implants.
