Man lied about son driving Aniah Blanchard suspect to Florida, records state
...
The younger Johnson was interviewed in the early-morning hours of Nov. 8 where he provided a written statement admitting to knowing that Yazeed was wanted by police and driving him to Pensacola. He also told investigators his father knew Yazeed was wanted and saw him leave with Yazeed in his car. ...
.
IY was captured at 11:00 PM on 11/7. It will be interesting to find out why this guy was not, and apparently will not, be charged with anything.
Maybe he called LE right after dropping off IY and made a deal to give up the location, then LE interviewed him the next day. Maybe he felt threatened and had no choice but to drive IY.
(I'm a bit nervous to discuss this person, but I think it is okay since this was in MSM and I'm not accusing him of anything not stated in the article.)

IMO this explains all the confusion in the prior thread about David Johnson Jr/Sr/III...
Man lied about son driving Aniah Blanchard suspect to Florida, records state

Investigators made contact with Johnson, who records state is the father of David Lee Johnson III, an “associate” of Yazeed. The elder Johnson told lawmen he had seen Yazeed earlier in the day but said he had left the residence with an unidentified female.

On Nov. 10, authorities went back to the elder Johnson’s home and he admitted to knowing the first time they questioned him that Yazeed was wanted and that he saw Yazeed leave with his son.

Court records don’t reflect any charges against the younger Johnson. The elder Johnson has since been released from the Montgomery County Jail on $7,500 bond.
If DJ III is the person who drove IY to Pensacola, why has not been arrested for hindering an investigation?

November 25: Prosecutors confirm 63-year-old David Johnson Jr. was arrested and charged with Hindering Prosecution in Montgomery. An affidavit indicates David Johnson Jr. lied to investigators about Yazeed’s actions after Blanchard vanished. The affidavit alleges detectives discovered later Johnson III, the son of Jonson Jr., drove Yazeed to Florida and Johnson Jr. later admitted he knew Yazeed was wanted the first time officers came to the residence and that he saw Yazeed leave with his son.

Wednesday – November 27: The Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences confirms remains located along County Road 2 in Macon County belong to 19-year-old Aniah Blanchard. The positive identification comes 35 days after the quest to find Aniah began.
Forensic testing confirms remains found in Ala. are Aniah Blanchard

On Monday, David Johnson Jr. was charged in Montgomery, Alabama, and charged with hindering the prosecution in Blanchard’s disappearance. Yazeed was allegedly at Johnson Jr.’s home Nov. 7 before he left for Florida, WBMA reported, citing court documents. Authorities allege that Johnson Jr. knew that Yazeed was wanted by police at the time.

Upgraded charges are expected after the medical examiner determines the cause and manner of death, Hughes told reporters.
Remains found determined to be Aniah Blanchard
So although DJ Iiihe isn’t a suspect he was the driver like we speculated ?? And he has no charge ?? this is so confusing ...

I was one of the speculators on this subject and I’m so sorry if anything I posted caused the need for the thread closing even sorrier Aniah is not able to be here with her family ..it’s so sad how unfortunate females fate can be when crossing paths with a monster....and the awareness everyone gets on this site from such bright minds is so mind blowing and appreciated

IMO it’s because he was honest with them as soon as he was asked. He also may have been the one to give IY location away in FL. It’s pretty rare to see someone actually be arrested and charged for lying about something in an investigation. I think they did this to send a message that they aren’t messing around with these criminals in Montgomery or because they were really mad that he lied about it. Of course this is all JMO.

From Yellowhammer Article:

Fisher allegedly provided transportation for Yazeed and disposed of evidence.
Per the yellowhammer article, he said in a phone call that he had been in her car.
If AF only provided transportation for IY and disposed of evidence, does that support a kidnapping charge, or does the charge imply involvement in the actual abduction?
Alabama is weird tho with things like that. Someone needs to comment on specifically Alabama law to clarify. For example, in the JB Beasley & Tracie Hawlett case, the guy was charged with more than just two counts of murder (I can’t remember if it was Capital or First Degree - I am NO lawyer lol). I thought that was weird but when I looked into it, apparently, in Alabama, if you commit another crime (idk what type) while you murdered someone - in this case, it was a rape - then you also get charged with another count of murder. So, it could be a situation like that - he committed a crime in the process of the kidnapping that contributed to it. Any lawyers familiar with Alabama law help me out!! Lol

IMO he knew that the call was being monitored. They tell inmates that all calls could be used against them. I think it was his way to get the information out without him looking like he was snitching. Interesting he tells someone everything he did on a phone call he suspects is being monitored. Then says don’t go to the police. It sounded like a setup. IMO the only thing he may have bargained after they confronted him about what was heard on the call, was where the body was. JMO.
There’s a recording that plays before a call saying they record them. However, they know Montgomery County doesn’t have the resources to sit & listen to those phone calls. Maybe he (along with other inmates) got too comfortable with using the phone in jail & just disregarded the message? I could see that. JMO.

re McCraney's charges for JB & Tracie:

with 2 counts of 1st degree murder, 2 counts of 1st degree murder while in the act of murdering two or more persons & 1 count of 1st degree rape (Beasley).

Surprising as it seems, criminals do it everyday.

I just mentioned this in Cupcake’s thread, that surely it’s 101 that jailhouse calls are likely monitored and/or recorded, even before this fancy technology.

Verus - LEO Technologies

“Verus is cutting-edge technology that produces near real-time intelligence from inmate phone calls based on keywords and phrases. It automatically downloads, analyzes, and transcribes all recorded inmate calls, proactively flagging them for review”

In the article, it says that they know but discuss criminal activiry all the time. I agree with you, they just got too comfortable. But even then, it makes no sense for him to talk about it. Unless he wanted someone to do something for him and he brought it up. Like I would be so nervous.

Glad the fam, got closure. I dont think they would havr found her or at least not this soon if it was not for Fisher. He potrays himself as a big family man with two girls and wife. Like what connection does he have with IY that he could call him up and help get rid of murder evidence of an innocent girl?

I wonder if his dad called him and told him that police were at the house looking for IY. His dad (DJ Jr.) knew IY was wanted and knew he was with his son. The police came looking and DJ Jr. lied for his son, presumably to buy some time, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he immediately then called and let him know it was time to give it up. It still seems odd to me that DJ III is not charged with anything, but my guess is he’s the one who gave up IY’s location.
