thank you! I just read the rules, my apologies. I'm still looking for the list of funerals that were held in Winfield the day of her disappearance. I think there might be a link between the two.

that’s a good idea. I know her mom said that her step dad was at home and she stopped to see him after the funeral. So I imagine it was not someone on his side of the family.

My fear is a vehicle dump. With the interstate being involved, she could be anywhere. How long before they can involve the FBI?
Agree. I know of someone who lived in an apartment complex somewhere down south. A couple of buildings over from her apartment, a young lady's car had been parked for a couple of weeks, before it was determined to be that of a missing young woman. Nothing was on the news at the time about the young lady being missing or her vehicle, so no one reported it.

The young lady was found two towns over, murdered unfortunately.

if her step dad didn't attend the funeral, her mom must've not attended as well. Could be from her biological father's side of the family? I only found an obituary for a guy, his funeral service was held at 7:00pm on October 23rd. Could not have been him. Also Winfield is 167 miles from where her car was found.

I understood she and her brother went to the funeral, then stopped to visit BIO dad who lives in Birmingham?

I just listened again. Her mom says she (Angela) went to the funeral in north Alabama with Aniah and her brother Elijah. They stopped to see Walt after.
’We need as many people as we can out there searching for Aniah’: Mother of Homewood girl missing in Auburn talks

Informative interview. I can’t summarize all right now but main points:

Been to a funeral that day in north Alabama

stopped by Birmingham to see Walt step dad afterwards about 9.

Was with her brother, Elijah (I think she was trying to say son, but maybe stepson?) and dropped him off at 11:00 pm. Says she might go out then. He told her not to as she was tired.

LE know where her phone pinged at 11:20 (last possible lead)
phone went dark at 11:57

Told roommate via Snapchat she was with a guy she just met and gave name. No indication of how they met. Mom did not reveal name but she knows it.

I understood she and her brother went to the funeral, then stopped to visit BIO dad who lives in Birmingham?

So it couldn't have been in her biological father's side of the family. Must've been a friend? I assume she didn't attend school that day?

There were speculations that she met up with a guy she met online. They must've met up at an apartment in Montgomery, where her car was found.
I bet they know if she was alone when she left Auburn. The police announcing that her car was seen on South College Street around I-85 leads me to believe they have surveillance footage of her car there. Hopefully, the police can tell if she was alone or not when her car got on the interstate.

I’m local life-long resident of the area. During the last decade or two there has been a definite uptick in crime originating from Montgomery sources as well as a couple of small towns between Montgomery and Auburn along I-85. Most of it is typically individuals preying on the student population with car break-ins and burglary. College students at Auburn usually have the things that are desirable to criminals - money, electronics, jewelry, etc. and they tend to be easy targets despite it being a relatively low crime area with good law enforcement presence. Conversely, most consider Montgomery an area with a lot of crime for a relatively small city by some definitions. In recent years, many, many of my friends have moved away or moved to the affluent neighborhoods on the Auburn side of Montgomery. Those that work there don’t mind the 45 minute commute from Auburn to enjoy more security and less crime. The area where her car was found is not an area any young woman should go unescorted and I basically wouldn’t go there myself, as a male, after dark. Pretty much anything south of Taylor road with few exceptions is more seedy, more sketchy. I sincerely hope she is found but I remember the story of Lauren Burk vividly as she was kidnapped on campus and subsequently killed and dumped not far from where I live. My prayer is that this ends vastly differently and she is found alive and well very soon.

This. Every word of this. I’ve had Lauren Burk on my mind as well, and I pray this outcome is different.

Wow. Thanks for the local insight. I got a sense of the apartments just by reading the Google reviews (yikes) but this adds to the picture. I'm worried for her, and really hope this is a good outcome, but the longer this goes on, the less likely that seems. MOO

My goodness I hope this young lady is ok! This reminds me a lot of Mackenzie Lueck. She too had just returned from a funeral, and people thought maybe she just needed time away. Then, we find out she met up with someone, and unfortunately was murdered.
I pray she needed time away and will be found soon, but I am very concerned for her! MOO
