Could the gentleman have been placed there, due to an abscence of clothes and personal items?
This is very speculative, but this guy could have been relatively well looked after (well-nourished, trimmed nails) in an unregistered personal care home where he died of natural causes (high BMI, circulatory issues due to absence of hair on legs), and was placed at the house so that the care home owners could continue receiving SSI/SSDI checks after he was dead.

To me, it seems like family would have had him taken to hospital or funeral home, and a murderer would have just dumped him in a more isolated area. To leave him undressed (no personal items, no clothing to trace) shows lack of a close personal connection but to place him on a porch and in a chair seems like whoever left him there cared at least a little bit about him. A blanket would have been nice. Poor guy.

I wonder if he had a mental episode and took off, ultimately ending up dead on the front porch of a vacant home having stripped his clothes off. Can't be hypothermia-based paradoxical undressing as this was July. MOO.

The article in the original post says that he was found at the address 6231 2nd Avenue North. Google Street View (dated 2017) shows a handful of older, run-down homes close by. One appears to be occupied and well-cared for, but there are two that look abandoned and there is a decrepit building further down the street. One of the two abandoned homes has an enclosed porch, and the one that does not (a brown house) has a porch bench on it. Again this is from 2017 but I don't see much changing in 3 years if the house was truly unoccupied and not cared for.

This also occurred very close to an alternative school and a highway. So, there's a fair amount of activity in that area. I think if he was placed there, the people responsible would have wanted to do so when it was dark. It would also need to be done relatively quickly after death as rigor mortis would not allow him to be posed in a chair.

MOO.
