I was hoping she would have been discharged home by now but what time is it over there?
She arrived home at 11pm, Police notified and paramedics called.. is that 2 hrs ago or more or lesss?
I've never been in and out of an ER in 2 hours or less...You usually sit that long and wait to be seen, unless it is truly an emergency.

This clears up the report of a gray car at the scene.

“From the time that she stopped to the time that the first officer hits the blue lights and gets to the scene — we do not see another vehicle pull over or anything like that,” Chief Derzis said.

An early tip about a gray vehicle with a man standing outside of Ms. Russell’s vehicle was discounted after the footage review, the chief added."

Thanks for the link, @Fargo !
It helps to clear things up a bit.

It was reported by a passing trucker that a silver car was near the scene. It was in the article along with a discription of a male leaning into her vehicle...I never knew about a grey truck?
Yeah, I meant car. False reports are quite common in cases such as this. We can see in the video no silver car stopped

And wow was that fast on the crime stopper's reward. LE was featuring it on their page and accepting donations. It was over 50k in under 48 hours. That would have to scare even the most cold-hearted kidnapper!
Yep. Idk, I do not get the feeling this girl did this to herself or anything. Doesn't make sense. If she would've, the cops would've found her quickly. She went missing in a 2 min timeframe.
Happy she's at the hospital... I feel like that's where she needs to be!!

911 was reportedly called at 10:45. That's central time. Almost 4 hours ago. She may be home again by now. It is 2:42 in the morning there so probably won't hear anything more until morning.

Highly unlikely to be home within 4 hours of 911 being called.

ETA it’s only 1:45am central time so really it’s only been 3 hours since 911 was called. Even if she was immediately seen once she got to the ER (highly likely) I doubt any type of mental and physical evaluation would be completed in 3 hours let alone discharged home in that time frame. This is just my experience as a healthcare worker.

Yeah, and even if she IS in the ER, she may be being admitted for exposure or potentially worse injuries (I pray nothing serious but who knows what happened to her). She is reported to be in shock.
I doubt a girl missing for 2-3 days was dropped at the ER and discharged within 4 hours. Her family is still outside the hospital, she's still there, via last update.

In my opinion, based on the available evidence, there was no child. There was no grey truck.

She may have hallucinated. She may have made it up. It will come out eventually.
<modsnip>

If we hear anything, it will be something along the lines of a "mental health" issue and the family dealing with it in private...My money is on the police not pressing charges and not requesting repayment for money spent on resources used to find her.

BTW - I watched the video and could see no child and no abduction of her. I feel certain that the police also had a pretty good idea of what happened and that there was no child involved.

When police arrived in the area, they located Russell’s car and some of her belongings nearby but did not find her or a child. In a press conference, Lt. Daniel Lowe said there has been a report from someone that said they saw a vehicle and a man where Russell reported seeing a toddler.

Lowe said Russell got off work at the Summit around 8:20 p.m. and went to pick up food. Then, she headed to Hoover.

What is the Summit?
The Summit is the shopping area, the spa at which she worked was located in the Summit

Yep, especially with it being a Saturday night. Immediate emergencies take precidence. Although with her case being so well known I wouldn’t be surprised if she was taken back quickly to check for injuries/trauma and it’s just taking awhile (as usual) to run all the tests/scans etc.

Carlee Russell, missing just over 48 hours, has been found safe.

The 25-year-old nursing student returned to her Hoover home shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday.

Paramedics and police were called after she reportedly showed up at the house she shares with her parents.

Hoover Chief Nick Derzis said Russell showed up at her parents house alone. She is being taken to a hospital to be evaluated.

Thank God. She’s a beautiful young woman and seems to have a bright future. I hope she wasn’t harmed and isn’t ill. But she’s alive and that’s wonderful.

According to the hospital website, the average turnaround time, in and out, is just over 3 hours.

So it would totally depend on what is going on. She *could* be home already.

As a mother of five kids, if I’m listing all the scenarios about what I’d want for my own children, I’d want “staged” at the top of the list. I’d want drugs. I’d want a psychotic break. I’d want a mental health issue. I’d want running away. I’d want running from the law. I’d want a MILLION things before I’d want someone actually taking them. Someone dragging them down that hill and assaulting their precious body I gave birth to and cared for. Someone hitting them with a vehicle and dragging them for miles before tossing their dead body. Someone doing terrifying things to them while I search for them and they call out my name. I’d want so many things before I’d want them at risk of being dead.

And that’s what I want for Carlee… no matter what the color of her skin is (or mine for that matter.) I want best case scenario FOR HER. Because she’s someone’s daughter. Someone’s friend, sister, student, etc.

So sue me if I am praying this is a staged mental health break. It’s the absolute BEST case scenario for an alive and obviously VERY loved young woman.
Wow. Beautiful post. I felt your words.

There got to be more details that police will or should share if it's a clear-cut case of brazen abduction in an effort to keep the local public safe and informed.?
<modsnip - if you can't link it, don't mention it> I think that there are cameras all over those highways. I do think the police know what happened or have a good idea from collected video footage.

BTW - I lived in the Hoover area for many years, even met my husband there! We have lots of family still there. That area is very well traveled. It seems if there were a small child on the side of the road, there would have been more than one call to 911. In the video that I viewed, there was no evidence of anyone on the side of the road. I also didn't see where she was abducted.

She's been found safe and sound. It's time to rejoice her homecoming, and it's become crickets in here. Where'd all y'all go? Well, at least there's a handful still on here, or maybe everyone is just checking back in at different times and people don't know yet. What a fantastic outcome!! I can't even imagine the rejoicing and tears when her parents opened that front door. May she and her family be blessed with peace, comfort, and support as they journey onward.
You posted this at 1:39 am eastern time! I’m thinking many retired for the night!
