The preliminary hearing for Burrus is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017, in Shelby County District Court with Judge Daniel Crowson, according to court records.
According to court documents, Adam Burrus has been ordered to submit a cheek swab and a blood sample. The Shelby County District Attorneys Office said in the documents that many items of evidence obtained as a result of the investigation were stained with what is believed to be blood and other bodily fluids.
A preliminary hearing was originally scheduled for Wednesday morning, but it has been moved to April 5.
Adam Michael Burrus, 38, was set to have a preliminary hearing Monday morning in Shelby County Circuit Judge Daniel Crowson's courtroom. That hearing has been reset for October 4.
Burrus is charged with murder in the December 2016 death of Connie Overstreet Woolweaver, who was found dead in her home by her 13-year-old son when he arrived home from school.
The grand jury indicted Adam Michael Burrus for 37-year-old Connie Woolweaver's December 2016 murder.
Burrus' arraignment is scheduled for December 4th, 2017.
No trial date has been set yet but a status conference is scheduled for January 8th.
The next hearing in the case of the murder of a North Shelby County woman has been continued to July 9, according to court records.
The case was scheduled for a status hearing on Jan. 8, and the parties agreed to the continuance to allow counsel to review the evidence, witnesses and testimony, according to court records.
