a.k.a "Lloyd Nolan John Doe”
UP15866 (NU)
Hospital-3-1024x590.jpg
Lloyd Nolan Hospital c.1963 (X)
Circumstances:
Incomplete skeletal remains were discovered by three engineers who were surveying a sloped wooded property in a commercial/industrial area. The remains were found to be contained within a long sleeve shirt and pants. A Lloyd Nolan Hospital Ident-A-Band bracelet manufactured by Hollister, Inc. was found with the remains. It was determined that the bracelet was manufactured between 1966-1984 and was issued by Lloyd Nolan Hospital to a 40 year old black male. Lloyd Nolan Hospital has since closed in 2004 and was subsequently torn down in 2009. All attempts to identify the patient issued the bracelet failed. (per NamUs).

Lots to unpack. Based on what is said of the remains, he had been deceased for a while. Lloyd Nolan Doe was found with a hospital I.D. band that was only manufactured between 1966-1984 so if the band belonged to him, he was hospitalized during that time frame. This band was probably a wristband.

We don’t know if he was still wearing the wristband when he died or if it was simply on his person, like in a pocket. There is no way to tell based on the remains.

If the band was issued to a “40 year old black male,” that would indicate the race, gender, and birthdate were still legible on the band at least. But what about a name? Why would the name on the wristband not be included on the NamUs profile, even if they were previously unable to identify the Doe using it?

But it is also possible that the band did not belong to Lloyd Nolan Doe and he was walking around with someone else’s band for whatever reason. Hopefully photos are uploaded soon if they are available. MOO.
