@othram does it again!
Using these new leads, investigators contacted potential family members of Cleburne County Jane Doe. Additional investigative work and follow up DNA testing enabled investigators to positively identify the woman as Clara Kopp Reynolds of Georgia. Reynolds was last seen with a male friend and was supposed to have been traveling to Florida. Clara Reynolds was born in 1947 and went missing in late 1988 or early 1989. While the Heflin Police Department has identified a suspect in the death of Reynolds, additional details cannot be released at this time as this is an active investigation. We will provide updates as they become available.

CLEBURN COUNTY, ALABAMA — A Georgia woman whose remains were found in a wooded area of Alabama in 1990 have been identified as missing mother.

The Heflin Police Department reached out to Othram Labs, a genealogy company that helps solve cases involving unidentified persons. They created a genetic profile and were able to identify the body as Clara Kopp Reynolds, who went missing in either late 1988 or early 1989.

Othram Labs even got in contact with Reynolds' daughter, who Bonner says was "very appreciative" that there was finally closure on her mother's disappearance.

“I’m sure it was a mixed emotional time for her, she was glad she could know what happened to her mom, she wouldn’t have to wonder if her mom abandoned her or if she was still alive somewhere,” Bonner said.
